Freedom with/without vaccine

Super excited about some normality returning but just wanted to know if those in their 30s & 40s will be relaxing or would you feel more comfortable with receiving the vaccine first? I read by 31/07 for all adults but does that mean all by that date & is that 1 jab or 2? I'm in my 30s & want to party but also want the vaccine first.

1st jab offered to all adults by end of July, is what they’ve said.

Same. I'm in my 30's and will wait till i've had at least one vaccine dose (which might be July) before i'd go to any big gatherings or clubs. I'd have been shut away for over a year by then, what's another few weeks? Don't want to risk that all being for nothing by catching it and then potentially being ill for weeks or months anyway.

I'll see friends and family though in June.

Thank you, Just interested to know if the wait will put people off from "celebrating".

@User133847 that's how I feel but then I was reading some of the other threads & felt I was overreacting but I assume lots of posters have had a jab or will be receiving one soon.

If it was June and vaccines were still months away for my age range i'd probably think 'fuck it'. If it's literally weeks at the most, then it'd be stupid to go mad and risk it if you've been careful for 15 months. Especially as being careful all that time will lower your immune system.

gigity · 22/02/2021 19:12

That's true didn't think about that.

I'm 30. I'll be going out partying whether I have the vaccine or not. I've never been scared of catching Covid.

I'm late 30s and also feel I'd rather wait until I have my first vaccine before taking too many risks but depends on infection numbers too I guess... I'm hopeful that if the vaccination rollout continues at the current speed, I might get mine as early as mid-May-early June so it really won't make much difference to wait a few more weeks and then take advantage of the lifting of restrictions with more confidence.
