Family routine gone to pot during this winter lockdown

Hi all

Is anyone else struggling to keep their family routines going in this lockdown? During Xmas holidays we always are more relaxed and so bedtime went out of the window. As the children didn’t go back to school I have not been able to get the bedtime back to get them up early. There is nothing much to get up for at the moment.

I am working as a key worker in adult social care. I’m starting earlier as I don’t have to do the school run. So I am out 10/11hours a day. I work a little bit at home here and there. But mainly coming home frazzled.

I am so tired I fall asleep on the sofa before the kids are ready to sleep.

I know I need to get things back on track before schools go back.

Please tell Me I’m not the only one feeling like this?

How old are your children? Are they old enough to go to their bedrooms to do quiet activities when you go to bed?

My 11 year old Dd has taken to imposing her own bedtime of 8:30 but she would sleep in past lunch if I let her, although I think that's down to puberty more than anything.

Start inching it back this weekend. If they are back to school on the 8th it will be a gruelling few weeks for them.

Definitely try to start implementing a bed time. Start at ten? How old are they?

Failing that turn the WiFi off and change the password!

We’re the same OP, routine who?
