If you had a test recently, how long did it take for you to receive the result?

Dh had one on Wednesday at 9.30am and the result came about 36 hours later, yesterday evening.

QueenOwl · 19/02/2021 16:27

Last week: 23 hours

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 19/02/2021 16:33

Less than 24 hours last week but we have surge testing local to us now so would guess it would take longer.

harknesswitch · 19/02/2021 16:40

I had a test at midday today, I'll let you know when my results come back

Poppins2016 · 19/02/2021 16:40

That's quite reassuring, those waiting times aren't too bad...

I've just had to take DS for a test and was given the standard line "expect results within 48 hours" but previous experiences have seen us waiting between 60 hours - 5 days with the previous 2 tests! Admittedly it was bad timing with the 5 day result as DS became unwell just before Christmas, which would have been a peak time for testing....

Just hoping for a speedy result within the time frames stated, as I have a hospital appointment on Monday (12 week scan) that I really don't want to have to cancel because I'm still waiting for a result (I realise I may have to cancel because the result is positive, no problem with that, however I know I will be a bit upset if I've cancelled only to receive a late negative result)!

A colleague who probably used the same testing centre earlier in the week got his result within 14 hours, which I thought was impressive. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it wasn't a one-off...

Dp got his back in exactly 24 hrs this week. I had mine 26 hours ago, no results yet.

Thank you!

I'll update when our results are back, too.

2 weeks ago, I tested at 1pm and results were back before 9am next day.

RhubarbCrumbling · 19/02/2021 22:15

Tested this week. 25 hours. Negative.

Crumpetycrump · 19/02/2021 22:16

Tested a week ago and it was 18 hours.

purplepingu · 19/02/2021 22:27

DD tested at 8:20 yesterday morning, results came by text at 8:01 this morning.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 19/02/2021 23:09

I was tested on a Monday, chased it up after 3 days, told they couldn't chase it formally until day 6. Phoned on day 6 to be told "they have 3 days to get back to you - if they don't contact you it means they've lost the test"! Needless to say I never heard from them..so I had to isolate for 9 days.
And bizarrely a friend knows someone who got a negative test result...but hadn't actually had a test! ( maybe he got mineWink)

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/02/2021 23:11

Our walk in test centre does the lateral flow test. They text you the result within an hour

Our drive thru does the better test. They text you within 48 hours

cataclysmiclife · 19/02/2021 23:13

36 hours here

QueenofBrickdon · 19/02/2021 23:13

11 days ago all 4 of us had results in about 12 hours.

harknesswitch · 20/02/2021 06:31

@Poppins2016 my test results came back to me at 6am this morning, so 18 hrs after my test was done yesterday

Poppins2016 · 20/02/2021 15:04

Sorry to hear that @Ifonlyiweretaller that sounds very frustrating.

Thanks for the update @harknesswitch

Currently the clock is at 27 hours and counting... sods law I'll be kept waiting after being given some hope on here! 🤣
