are prediabetics classed as group 6?

just rang docs to make sure im down as an unpaid carer and have been told that theres already a flag on my notes for the vaccine but its not to do with caring.
the only other thing i can think of is i was told at beginning of lockdown 1.0 i was pre diabetic, is that on the list? i cant seem to find out, only see that diabeteics are

oh im not worrying about it as such, the sooner the better as far as im concerned. more puzzled as to why.
i am fat yes, but my bmi is no where near the 40 required to be put in this group

Lots of women who had gestational diabetes (but have been fine since giving birth) seem to have had shielding letters or be put on the list for vaccines today - see other threads on here. Does that apply to you?

yes i did have gestational diabetes, confirmed with my last child and suspected late onset with the others

That's probably it then. There have been several threads on it today - here's one, which has a GP saying that it is an error, and GD should not be a cause for shielding/extra vulnerability. So probably not something to worry about, but may mean you get the vaccine sooner anyway.
