Can anyone clarify the epilepsy situation

My sister has epilepsy and we've seen on epilepsy action website that people with epilepsy will be added to priority group 6. She hasn't heard anything from her GP yet, and I was just wondering if anyone in a similar situation had heard anything.

She doesn't want to 'bother' her gp and so is planning to wait a week until to see if she gets a letter.

I would just call and enquiry, don’t see the harm.

My daughter has epilepsy and I wasn’t aware of this. She’s not had a call but isn’t particularly worried about having to wait a while.

No, my sister isn't particularly worried (it's me that's started to worry that they wouldn't have changed priority without good reason)

I read a few months ago epilepsy was one of the groups they wanted to get vaccinated.My understand is that covid won't make anyone with epilepsy worse, but it could through out how well their medication works if they're feeling ill, so that's the reason behind it. I was interested as my Mum has epilepsy (she's had her vaccine due to age and was absolutely fine by the way).

There are so many conditions lumped in group 6 there are over 7 million people so it will take time. It’s going take much longer than any other group

It will take quite a while to get through all 7 million group 6, it only started on Monday. Not everyone will hear in the first week. Epilepsy is in group 6.
