Self employed cleaner help

Hi
Just wondered if anyone had any advice for any financial help available for me, I'm a self employed domestic cleaner (clean peoples homes) I have been unable to work since before Christmas, so lost out a lot of money. I'm unable to claim the grants from HMRC because I also have a part time PAYE job and they said because the tax returns they based it on I had earned less self employed than I did PAYE. Hope that makes sense. So frustrating because we are struggling financially and tonight I seen a grant has opened applications for £4000 that's for close contact self employed mobile businesses, such as beauticians and hairdressers etc but I don't seem to be eligible to claim because of the nature of my work! I AM IN SCOTLAND WHICH IS PROBABLY RELEVANT

Thanks in advance

Have you thought about claiming UC?

Cleaners can still work in private homes.

@nolovelost

It was my understanding the guidance was we could only work in homes if it was for a vulnerable person who wasn't able to do it themselves? None of my clients come under that category.
Even if I was able to work I wouldn't be able to due to the kids not being at school. Their grandma is shielding, and schools obviously aren't open so no childcare.

That's Definately the guidance. Only for vulnerable people

We get minimal tax credits, but wouldn't get UC due to my husbands earnings. He is still working. I'm aware we are very lucky he is working and we still have a wage coming in but due to having 6 children, struggling along on one wage is tough. They eat more than I could explain 😂😂😂😂

Oh I'm sorry I didn't realise that. How many hours do you work?

Cleaners can work in anyone’s home. Mine has been coming throughout as has everyone else’s who I know.
