Vaccine batch number question.

An elderly friend of mine has had her jab and was given a record card with only the vaccination batch number on it, she is interested to know what she has had due to her side effects. Batch number was 3 letters followed by three numbers.
I have had mine due to being in healthcare and my pfizer batch number was two letters four numbers. I suspect she has had an oxford jab but we were just curious if anyone has a batch number pattern from oxford jab. Thanks

DH had Oxford, 2 letters, 4 numbers HTH

Did it have any name written on along with batch number? Oxford is called 'Talent' and Pfizer is called 'Courageous'.

Give it a few days and ask the GP? They should get full details.

The code names are not being used once the vaccine is authorised.

The Pfizer BioNTech vaccine is also known as BNT162b2 - it wasn’t that was it?

The Pfizer batch number I saw (not mine, but someone sent me a photo of their card) was the same format, two letters (EL) then a space and then 4 numbers. But the card also had name of vaccine (just said Pfizer in capital letters) and the date given.

I'm surprised it doesn't state on which one she was given, or at least given a pamphlet with side effects etc that says which one it is?

Surely all vaccination centres should be making people aware which ones they are receiving at the time.

I'm not doubting her experience by the way, just surprised.

@WwMILd, I was reading your post on my phone and my vaccination card is tucked into the cover, I was amazed to see that my batch number is AB0006, dated 31st January. Of course I am now curious to know whether you had your vaccines at the Centre for Life in Newcastle - but what a coincidence!

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 16/02/2021 19:35

Coveting, I understand, however i saw the card, no identification whatsoever, no name ,just a batch number. She was given no leaflets regarding her jab either. I came away with a fair amount of literature about mine.

I asked which one it was before the Nurse gave it.

Astra Zeneca are sometimes known as Astra Zeneca AB as the company was formed by a merger between Astra AB & Zeneca group.

My in laws batch numbers began AB. fil was told his was the Oxford vaccine.

FlameHairedRachel · 16/02/2021 19:48

I’ve had the Pfizer vaccine and it has two letters followed by four numbers!

The batch number for mine was exactly the same as the batch number of someone I know vaccinated down south?

FlameHairedRachel · 16/02/2021 19:51

My Pfizer vaccine started with EN then 4 numbers

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 16/02/2021 19:55

Can you share the actual BN? Someone may recognise it.

It’s a bit rubbish that your relative wasn’t given the information.
