We did our first test two weeks ago. No vouchers, no response on results. The guy from ONS said results would come back within 5 days. Anyone had similar? I mean it's all for the greater good, but just curious....

We have been taking part since October. To begin with we never got any results back and then they started sending them by post about two weeks later. Similar for the vouchers. You can chase your vouchers via this email address.

I've been doing this study too and the results take a while to come through but 2 weeks is pushing it a bit. The vouchers are really slow but 2-3 weeks has been the norm for me so far.

Refer to the original letter you received. The contact information is on there.

Don't worry about the test results as that is hit and miss. Vouchers can be chased after 20 days of the test so I always tally up vouchers and test dates. My vouchers went awry before Christmas and took 2 phone calls but all got sorted in the end.

Sleepyquest · 14/02/2021 20:21

We sometimes dont get our test results until after we've had the next test

Shouldbedoing · 14/02/2021 20:25

We got a letter around Christmas time reminding everyone that the test results are slow as research tests are not prioritised. And if you suspect you have covid you should book a test in the normal way and do not rely on the research study test. Vouchers take a couple of weeks +

ShipshapeShore · 14/02/2021 20:26

Ours always take a while, I just assume if it was positive they wouldn't rely on the post to tell me! The vouchers are brilliant, we've had clothes, scooters, toys, a wardrobe, paint for DC bedroom, books... We have been doing it since it first started and the people have all been lovely. It's nice to feel that you're doing something remotely helpful in the battle ☺.

Thanks very much! Completely agree nice to do our part - I didn't even know there were even vouchers until the guy came to do our test. I was more curious about the results, I had Covid in December and just wondering how long it would stay in my system. I read that on average its 36 weeks. Thanks for your responses!

They say it can take up to 20 days for the vouchers, but ours have usually been much quicker, especially recently. I have emailed the incentives email address twice when it was late, and although I just got an automated response, the vouchers did then magically appear the next day or so!

Results usually about a week to 10 days, though a couple of times one/ all of us haven’t had them at all!

They repeat the same questions every time, so I tend to keep a written checklist on a bit of paper that makes it quicker and easier each time. The first appointment takes much longer than subsequent ones.

There’s a huge range of vouchers you can choose; we’ve tended to go for amazon. It’s been a lovely benefit for something we would have done for free. I love the reassurance of the tests too.

GnarlyOldGoatDude · 14/02/2021 21:23

Also- you hear nothing about the next one till literally the day before when a tester will ring you. It’s usually someone different each time for us, though we’ve had one or two testers twice.

LeaveHomeNow · 14/02/2021 21:55

Thanks @GnarlyOldGoatDude! Very helpful! I think the guy gave us 'best case scenario' timeframes which was why I was a bit worried. I thought it was a scam at first! We signed up in about June and were only contacted in Jan, I'd forgotten all about it!

Our vouchers took ages to arrive. Then got about £200 in one go. Now been 6 weeks since we got vouchers and had 2 tests + assume backlog). We have also been asked to take part in the antibody study. ( which involved a small amount of blood from finger tip) as well as the usual nasal/throat swab. Not sure if that will be a double payment for 2 tests? Have been doing since August 2020.
