Vaccination after recent covid?

Is there a gap recommended between recent covid infection and vaccination? We (3 out off 4) have covid in our house. DH is diabetic and on blood pressure medication so high risk and our area seems to be rapidly moving down the vaccination list so I anticipate he'll get called soon. Is there a recommended gap, obviously he'll need to have completed his isolation and be well but after that?

Also he was due surgery yesterday (covid test at pre op was positive - at that stage was symptomless) and its rescheduled for a few weeks, but I thought you could keep getting positive covid tests for a long while after infection?

It's not been a good week!

I work for an ambulance trust who also has a vaccination tent and they have advised staff to wait 28 days after COVID before having the vaccine.
