Volunteer interview

Hi, I’ve finally been able to book an interview for a volunteer vaccinator position and just wondered if anyone’s had one and could tell me what is involved? I don’t work in healthcare, I worked as a qualified beauty therapist and now i am a nursery teacher. Does this mean they are unlikely to want me? Or are they training people from all backgrounds? Also what kind of questions have you been asked? I’m so nervous, I hate interviews and I really hate video meetings!!

Ah brilliant . My telephone interview was just a general chat , where I was asked different questions about why I wanted to volunteer / examples of how i have helped people / when I had needed to ask for help /when I have got something wrong and how I managed and sorted it. Once you’ve done the telephone interview , they will then email you a user name and password to login to there online training where you are required to complete I think it’s 5 modules , then you have to complete another 5 or so on the nhs e learning website . Once there’s have been done you do a day of face to face training where you learn how to vaccinate among other things and then it’s just a matter of them waiting to get in contact with you as to where and when you can volunteer and what’s available. I have no medical back ground at all I’m a stay at home mum and neither did anyone who attended the course I was on , just people wanting to help . St johns will provide you will all the information you need and what to do . Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions . X
