I've just been thinking about how lucky our kids are to have the technology that enables them to play and chat with their friends while they're stuck at home. DS is 12, if he had a phone conversation with his mates it would last all of 2 minutes but put them in a game together and they laugh and play for literally hours.
I know it's far from ideal. It's no replacement for school, clubs, the park, swimming etc but its something at least and it's saved DS' and my own sanity.
If this pandemic had hit when I was a child, in the '80's we would have been completely cut off, no online learning even.
Have others found online gaming has saved the day? DS usually has limits on how much he can play but he's on most evenings now, its so good to hear him laugh.
