Pfizer side effects 10 days later?

Just wondering if this is still inside what is considered normal. I have read the booklet I was given and had a google search but haven't found an answer.

I had my 1st Pfizer jab 10 days ago. Had an achey arm and a headache for the first few days, as expected. For the last week, I have been absolutely fine.

Today, however, my vaccine site has suddenly swollen up, is sore, hot and has a large hard lump. Arm is going slightly numb. It is worse than in the days aftter the jab. Is this still ok or something I should yellow card?

(I also developed a cough yesterday so have taken a Covid test, waiting results. Not sure of that would affect anything?_

I would yellow card. And contact your GP.

CrunchyCarrot · 12/02/2021 16:32

I'd yellow card it. I have heard of a few people who've had a reaction some days after the jab (quite strong reactions) so it can happen.

I wonder if you have actually contracted Covid, and the injection site is reacting again as a result? I hope for your sake you have not!

Thanks. I've left it too late to contact my GP today, but I have submitted a yellow card report.

I had exactly this on day 8, 9 & 10 plus a sore throat and then completely fine. Large lump now completely gone and negative covid test. Hopefully the same for you too

DoctorYang · 12/02/2021 17:29

Thanks, glad to hear I'm not abnormal!

Had mine 2 weeks ago, everything is still fine.

Also test 3x a week for work, all still negative.

DoctorYang · 12/02/2021 18:26

Everything I've read said says side effects should be gone within the first week, maybe my body is just being slow Grin

I had this. Day after vaccine had flu symptoms and sore arm for 24 hours and spent day in bed. 2 weeks afterwards (14 days) had a 3 day blinding headache, dizziness, tight chest, cough, gritty eyes, fatigue. Oh and temp swung around 37.5 for a day. I did a test and it was negative as it felt exactly like when I did have Covid. I'm assuming it was a vax reaction. My dad had a similar timescale. I am a sensitive flower though. Annoyingly.

Delayed cutaneous hypersensitivity apparently. Quite common with the moderna vaccine apparently.

I feel better knowing that I am not the only one.

Interesting read, thank you @JS87
