Three of us in my household got tested on Friday 5th at a drive through centre. Two of us got results 83 hours later on Monday 8th. We're still waiting for the third result and I've contacted 119 because we've completed 5 days. Has anyone actually successfully got results back after so long? Or should I just assume they are lost? We're already more than half way through the 10 day isolation.

I waited 5 days for my negative result. 5 long, boring days stuck at home with my husband and children isolating with me just in case...

ExpulsoCorona · 11/02/2021 00:05

So you were set free after 5 days? I've got my fingers crossed!

My first test, last year took five days and three chasing phone calls,
The third call finally got someone useful at the "help centre" who realised that the barcode hadn't been recorded properly and thus not matched with the test; once that was sorted, he found the result for me.

my test last month took 25 hours, so some things are improving.
good luck with getting yours.

I did a home test at the end of Jan and have completed my 10 day isolation,
test was registered correctly as they checked for me quite a few times. I chased up on day 6 and 7 but still didn't hear anything. So sadly I didn't receive my results at all.

I did a home one Monday morning, was sent back immediately (we have loads of snow here so couldn’t get to a drive through) and it’s not back as yet. Mine was after a positive LFT and DS had it 2 weeks ago so I’m assuming it’s positive but really need to know.

Incidentally DS’s test (from a drive through) came back in 9 hours so I’m not sure why this is taking so long!

@ihearttc same situation here, we wanted to confirm a positive lateral flow and DH had it two weeks ago. When I chased it they said we no longer have to confirm lateral flows with a PCR. I'm now regretting saying on the form that it was to confirm a PCR, wish I had ticked yes to symptoms now...

I called them this morning, twice in fact as the line cut out. First time she said it didn’t need confirming with PCR then next phone call they said it did! I don’t think they have any clue what they are doing.
I also queried what I’m supposed to do about taking the LFT when I go back to work and she to take it and if it comes up positive I need to isolate again. I pointed out that it’s likely to stay positive for 90 days so am I supposed to stay off for 90 days?

@ihearttc hopefully this will help you www.google.co.uk/amp/s/schoolsweek.co.uk/covid-testing-in-schools-dfe-aligns-advice-with-nhs-following-confusion/amp/

Thank you, that’s really helpful!

ihearttc · 11/02/2021 13:02

But apparently not helpful enough for my HT who is insisting that I still need to take the LFT on my return and then isolate if positive. Looks like I will be isolating for 90 days then!!

ExpulsoCorona · 11/02/2021 17:51

@ihearttc Hopefully the official guidance will be updated before you get back to school and it won't be a problem.

Tomorrow will be a week since the test was done, it's probably lost isn't it?

My result eventually arrived this afternoon, positive as I expected.

Pl242 · 11/02/2021 18:25

I’m still waiting for test results from last October!

ExpulsoCorona · 11/02/2021 20:52

@ihearttc hope you are ok.

We got the result we were waiting for this evening. Also positive. It took 6.5 days and three phonecalls to 119, they escalated it when we entered the 6th day.

@Pl242 that's a long time! Hope you are better now x

@ExpulsoCorona

So glad yours arrived. I feel absolutely fine, slightly more tired than usual but not ill at all.
