Just been reading this about dental treatment and delays etc. Many people turning to self treatment Shock

Just wondered how true to life this is? Our dentists has been OK but quite busy, (private one, not much NHS available in the area)

Beaniecats · 08/02/2021 16:22

Sorry to add my private dentist been ok had check ups as normal

GeidiPrimes · 08/02/2021 16:26

It was nigh on impossible to find dentists that will take on NHS patients even before the pandemic.

WalkingOnStarshine · 08/02/2021 16:27

We can't even get an NHS dentist - it's a 4 year waiting list where we are then another year or two to actually get an appointment. We've had to get credit cards and go private.

Orangeblossom1977 · 08/02/2021 16:27

Not trying to advertise here but have been very glad of insurance, you can get it from ten pounds a month and makes the private dentists affordable. DC go free at ours too

I have a NHS dentist, but they're only seeing you if you pay for a private appointment at the moment.

MySaladDays75 · 08/02/2021 16:30

Nhs dentist -no routine check ups even for kids but can get an appointment quickly if an emergency/in a lot of pain.

I’m in the NW and our NHS dentist has been open. I’ve had my check up and DS has had his check up and hygiene appointment. In fact, the wait for the hygiene appointment after his check up was much quicker than normal.

User7458 · 08/02/2021 17:12

Private dentist and have had check ups and hygienist appointments, differences are that dentist did check up in hygienists room and hygienist did hand scale, only one room used for my appointment.
