Could someone explain immune response to me please?

I get flu and pneumonia vaccines without problems. I have an autoimmune condition.

I get my flu jab today and while I don’t want any side-effects it occurred to me that if I don’t get any side-effects (ie no immune response) does that mean my body isn’t reacting properly to jab and therefore will give me less protection?

I don’t usually analyse my vaccines like this, but of course like many others right now I am giving it a lot more thought.

Any knowledgeable people who could help me out there? Would be so grateful, thanks.

The side-effects are down to the immune response but just because your immune response isn’t making you feel awful, it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening

I also have an autoimmune condition. I never have reaction to flu jab, had a bit of a fever chills, aches and headache from Covid vaccination

My thinking was that flu is something I’ve had before, and had a lifetime of exposure to so not really get anything but sore arm, Covid is very new and less exposure so body has probably reacted to a different looking virus vaccine if that makes sense

Thank you Longtalljosie 😃 I wasn’t sure what to root for! Let’s hope I have no side-effects then. I am reassured by what you say so that’s cheered me!
