Will this go ahead?

My brother in law is getting married in Italy with 80 guests at the end of June.
He is fully convinced it will be fine. I don't and I don't feel comfortable going if it does so I've cancelled. And now I'm public enemy number 1 in the family especially with his wife.

Do you think it will go ahead in your opinion?

Nobody can tell you this answer to this.. I don't understand people making plans like this tbh. Absolutely anything could happen at this point. It could be that by the summer, the cases will drop alongside the vaccines knocking rona to the curb. It could be that a horrific new variation emerges, rendering current vaccines useless.

I don't understand how anyone replies to this with any conviction one way or the other at all.

If things continue as they are, then by June, everything in Italy should be opened up like it was last summer. Campania is yellow zone at the moment so everything getting back to normal with basic restrictions (masks, distancing, leaving details, restaurants and bars closing at 10pm etc)
It will, I think, be more of a question of if Brits will be allowed in given the higher figures, but in a few months time that will probably have settled too.

@AfternoonToffee oh believe me I have no faith in them at all but there is no way It would go down well if they hosted an international event while normal people were still having to quarantine. Also the airline and travel industry will not survive a summer with such severe restrictions in place. Once they hit the vaccine target the tide will turn to focus on the economy again (rightly so in my opinion) and the March budget will trigger a lot of this shift in focus.
