Oxford Com-COV study

Just wonder if anyone else is signing up for this study to see whether a mixture of vaccines could be used rather than 2 of the same type? I’ve signed up but don’t know if I’ll be accepted, as have a few underlying health issues. It sounds very interesting and the benefits of being able to mix and match vaccines would be great:

I am over 50 so quality! Scientists think that combining the vaccines might improve the immune response which would be very helpful when vaccine supplies are under pressure.

Bummer I'm not over 50.

I had a look at it and it made me laugh that they were saying participants must agree not to try and get pregnant.

How many natural pregnancies over 50 are there? Maybe I'm utterly naive but I thought that generally wasn't a very common thing.

My DH has just been accepted!! I’m still waiting for the call though myself

I keep trying to volunteer for various trials but yet again, no site near me.
(I'm on the ONS covid study and that's it)

Won't the over 50s be offered the vaccine as part of the rollout fairly soon anyway?

Yes they will - by May but that’s still 2 1/2 months away!
