Vomiting?

How common is it as a symptom? DS 8 started vomiting this morning, very pale, drowsy and high temp. Took him for a test this afternoon on account of the high temp.
He seemed to perk up afterwards, managed to keep some food down and stay awake. In the past hour his temp has gone up again, brought down slightly by calpol but not much.
I’m just wondering what to expect, did anyone else start like this or develop other symptoms?
Have no idea how he could have caught any virus, both mine and his fathers households have been idol for different reasons (not symptom related).

I think at this stage we're so confused that we're beyond knowing what is and isn't a symptom. There's no shortage of tests now so you're not taking one off somebody in more need. I'd go ahead and book him in, if only to put your mind at rest. Hope he's much better very soon.

There's been so many calls lately for the symptoms to be updated as lots of people don't actually test positive with any of the 3 main symptoms. Children also display a vast amount of different symptoms. One of the latest symptoms is called covid tongue.

Got no idea, however I vomited quite a lot when I had it.

Yes, vomiting and diarrhoea in children is a common symptom in children, but also normal in 24/48 hour stomach bug. You’ve done right getting a test, which hopefully will be negative.

This has really interested me as I was vomiting really badly just over a week ago and have had a headache since.
On Monday my DD (3 yr old) tested positive for coronavirus but with different symptoms and I wonder if I had covid last week and didn't realise. I didn't have a test as I didn't have what would be considered typical symptoms.
