I don't have any of the three recognised symptoms.
I do have
A strange red itchy blotchy rash on my face and. body
Runny nose
Headache
Hot one minute, cold the next.
Ive been out of sorts for the last 4 days.

I dDon't like the thought of wasting a test.

Take a test

Cornettoninja · 03/02/2021 13:00

Take a test, no test is a wasted test.

If you don’t already it would be really helpful to log your symptoms on the ZOE app. It’s an officially approved symptom tracker and they’re looking for new/common symptoms.

likeamillpond · 03/02/2021 13:05

But it means lying.
I will have to make up a symptom Confused

I would say yes you should take one. If your hot one minute is it like really hot like a temp? The doctor told me that you didn't have to be actually over 37.8 to take one she said even if you just felt warm/ like you had one to test to save any doubt.

LIZS · 03/02/2021 13:08

Temperature?

minniemango · 03/02/2021 13:08

If you feel hot you qualify.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 03/02/2021 13:09

I’ve lied to get a test- I’m feeling really run down and my daughters nursery bubble had a case. If everyone had a test we may not be in this mess- you can’t waste a test!

saffire · 03/02/2021 13:13

If you're hot then cold then surely you have a fever which is one of the main symptoms?

beakyboo10 · 03/02/2021 13:14

I lied to get a test and got a positive result on Monday, when you book the test it just asks if you have symptoms so just tick yes.

I thought it would be positive as our nursery bubble had burst so we knew it was likely. Test results came through really quick and testing site was pretty empty. Just test to be safe.

Yes to feeling run down as well . My eyes look like a 90 yr old. Whatv wirh the blotchy redness it's not a pretty sight. I wouldn't say I have a temperature.

I very rarely get I'll so tend to notice it more if things aren't right.

If you log these symptoms in the Zoe app it will likely ask you to take a test

What were your symptoms if you don't mind me asking?

I dont suppose your area is doing asymptomatic testing? We have high covid levels around here, but there are half a dozen places I can book a lateral flow test within half an hours drive.

Duckyneedsaclean · 03/02/2021 13:20

If you're feeling hot & cold you lonely do have a low grade fever, so I would just book a test.
You only have to click that you have one of these symptoms, they don't ask you anything further or ask you to prove it or anything. You have common symptoms that scientists have been suggesting are added to the list.

beakyboo10 · 03/02/2021 13:20

My symptoms were sore throat, headache and exhaustion and I just didn't feel right. The fever and cough started on Monday (the day after my test).

If nursery bubble hadn't burst I really don't think I would have tested that quickly but I am so glad that I did.

Duckyneedsaclean · 03/02/2021 13:20

*likely, not lonely

Angel2702 · 03/02/2021 13:23

Sounds like you have a temperature which is a main symptom. Everyone I know presented more like a cold when they had it so you should definitely test.

We have asymptomatic testing everywhere here and walk in normal tests.

skoobysnax · 03/02/2021 13:41

I have an asymptomatic test every week now. It's not wasting a test to get one done

likeamillpond · 03/02/2021 13:44

IArent asymptomatic testing sites purely for people who can't work from home?

I've done the Zoe app and it just thanked me for checking in and see you again tomorrow.
Maybe oh is right. I need to stop being a bloody hypochondriac

But what if you aren't being a hypochondriac and spread it Confused I felt like I had a heavy cold to start with. Surely it's best ticking a box to say you have symptoms than risk passing it on?!
minniemango · 03/02/2021 13:49

Asymptomatic testing is for people without symptoms. OP does have symptoms.

The Zoe app will email you about a test if they want you to take one.

Yorkshirepudding1987 · 03/02/2021 13:49

Areas doing asymptomatic testing is for anyone.

You dont have to make up a symptom to have a PCR teat It just says do you have one of the following and you press yes.

If you're concerned just get a test, there's plenty. I tested our toddler on Monday morning. He coughed twice and had a runny nose and sneezing. Because he coughed he would've been turned away from pre school without a negative test. At that point I wouldn't have said it was a continuous cough but we went and tested him anyway. Results less than 24 hours later confirmed negative.

Yorkshirepudding1987 · 03/02/2021 13:50

*asymptomatic testing is for anyone without symptoms. Not just people going to work.

beakyboo10 · 03/02/2021 13:55

We have an asymptomatic testing site in our local town and anyone can visit, they were even advertising on Facebook that you could go everyday for peace of mind. My area has very high covid rates and a low percentage of people who wear masks.
