Which vaccine?

DM has her vaccine booked for tomorrow. I booked it for her and she's interested to know which one she will be getting. Just curiosity I suppose with all the talk of different vaccines... she will have whichever it is. It's a big vaccination centre in SE. Is there anyway of knowing which it will be? Are centres generally using one type and gps / hospitals using another?

People I know who have had the vaccine have known which one they're getting. From the few cases I know of, the NHS workers have had the Oxford one and my 75 yr old dad has had the Pfizer one.

So based on the three people I know who have had it, I would guess that your mother would be getting the Pfizer one. However this may differ from region to region

It depends which one they have on the day.
We will have both for the next two days so the Pfizer will be given first due to the storage problems.

Our vaccine hub is using Astra Zeneca, the other hub in our town is using Pfizer, I'm not sure what the rhyme or reason is but I guess the most important thing is the fact that she's having a vaccine!

All of the people that come in are told which vaccine they are given and also all the necessary information on a sheet of paper.

My 70 year old relative went to a GP hub in Kent yesterday afternoon and had the Pfizer. His friend went to the same hub in the morning snd had the AstraZeneca.

Thanks everyone, so pretty random then and no rhyme or reason to it, it seems! Also, DF is taking her for the appt, he is 68 and doesn't have an appt yet but as the appt is in the evening I'm wondering if he may be offered if there's spares from day? I know he won't ask but from what I've heard this has happened? He will probably stay in the car but I'd love him to get one if they are looking to use up doses. Does anyone know how the spares are being used at the large sites?
