How long are tests taking to come back

Just tested dd in a walk in. We got tested back in October and waited twelve hours for results but there weren’t as many people getting tested back then. So how long have people who have recently tested waited for results?

I hope your keeping well and fingers crossed you get a negative result.

I think it all depends on where you are in the world tbh.

I done a postal test Sunday and have not heard anything back as yet and I am refreshing my app and emails every 5 mins 🙈.

I honestly feel like crap atm and I am just thinking if it’s not Covid and maybe a chest infection then this is hindering me from getting antibiotics that would help the infection but as soon as you mention what symptoms you have not it’s automatic Covid until a test says otherwise 😏

My son had one in a drive through in the South of England on Sunday morning and we had the results in less than 12 hours.

Minimummymee · 02/02/2021 18:21

We’re fine @Dee261 thanks for asking. Dd just has a cough we’re pretty sure it’s just a cold as it’s following a week of a snotty nose but nursery obviously wants her testing so it’s just a waiting game now, hoping to not be waiting too long

My friends husband had one yesterday in the south of England and also had the result in under 12 hours

Minimummymee · 02/02/2021 18:36

I’m also in the north west

I did a postal one yesterday, had bit of a cough over the weekend, now I’ve got a temperature but no cough. Am hoping I’ve just got a bit of a cold as our heating turned off for 2 days last week 😬

whataballbag · 02/02/2021 18:54

I did a test on Sunday at 8:20ish, results texted through same day at 18:06

Eeeemac · 02/02/2021 18:55

I did a postal over two weeks ago and no results back yet.

Shelby30 · 02/02/2021 18:57

I'm in central Scotland daughter had one a few weeks ago and it was back in 22hrs. Other child had one in November and it took about 48hrs to come back. I did a postal one for myself last week, posted at 5pm Friday night and got it back 7pm Saturday night so 26hrs from posting I was very impressed with that for a postal one.

Findahouse21 · 02/02/2021 19:00

Last week, South East, 18 hours

ihearttc · 02/02/2021 19:10

DS’s test on Saturday was done at 9am, we had the result by 6pm which I thought was quite impressive.

Dee261 · 02/02/2021 19:27

Talking about this and I have just had mine back so I am Scotland posted at 11am and result back at 7pm tonight so hopefully should be a faster turn around for you @Minimummymee 🤞.

Dee261 · 02/02/2021 19:27

*Sorry 11am Sunday

Lauren83 · 02/02/2021 19:31

I did a postal last Monday, sent it back about 2pm in a priority postbox. results back about 4pm the next day for DP and 6pm for me (positive)

LarsErickssong · 02/02/2021 19:48

My partner went for one on Saturday in Leeds and got his in 15 hours, my dad went for one at 7pm last night on the Fylde coast and got it today at 11am.

goldielockdown2 · 02/02/2021 20:00

Postal one took a day for me.

ProfessorPootle · 03/02/2021 07:12

Just got negative result through at about 6am, posted test Monday

Bluebellpainting · 03/02/2021 07:17

9 hours but it was done through my workplace (hospital) and prioritised as I was due at work the next day. My friend waited 24 hours for hers last week. South east

Minimummymee · 03/02/2021 10:56

We’re still waiting

just less tahn 24 hours. which is a big improvement on before.

Angel2702 · 04/02/2021 10:33

Think it still varies my parents were both tested last week at different places and both took over 24hrs. My nephew tested this week and got his result in 12hours.
