There are at home tests already being provided to people in the UK, such as some frontline staff. They do them weekly.

My last two at hone tests have took 6 and 7 days for results to come back thankfully both negative but hardly efficient.

I think the idea is that you get the result at home yourself. That is you don’t send it off. Also, this would be for anyone who wanted it, not just those chosen by the govt.

Yeah, there are home tests currently used by NHS and other frontline workers which give you results at home.

I don’t think the government will ever roll it out to the general population.

Yes, the lateral flow tests.
Questionable reliability.
PCR tests are the gold-standard, apparently.
