Isle of Man is out of lockdown as of today! All restrictions lifted and everything back to normal with just border controls.
Hooray!!!!

  • Note from MNHQ: We've edited the title to make it clear the OP's posting about the Isle of Man only. The original title said: Out of Lockdown! Ends today (and was getting a few people's hopes up)

How the heck is it gloating?
Fuck me, nobody's "allowed" to be happy on here anymore it seems, just everyone join in with the Competitive Miseriness!
Hmm
I'm not Isle of Man but saw the news earlier and thought it's great news, happy for them.
Hopefully be our turn soon, it's surely a step in the right direction with lockdown ending for Isle of Man and what with all the vaccines being rolled out!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 01/02/2021 15:36

Congratulations. I hope it stays lifted and you can have all those little things we miss so much: a hug, cup of coffee, people watching etc.

And ignore the grumpy. They, like the rest of us, are just jealous Grin

Have a liiitle foot freezing paddle for me next time you pass the sea!

FinallyFluid · 01/02/2021 15:36

@EmergencyHydrangea

Uh hu.
How utterly mealy mouthed. Shock
misskatamari · 01/02/2021 15:36

Happy for them but ugh, I'm so jealous. So so so sick of all this

Bloodybridget · 01/02/2021 15:37

How lovely OP, you make the most of it! I'm very glad that somewhere in the UK, people can lead a more normal life!

redastherose · 01/02/2021 15:38

I'm on the IOM and it is great news for us, glad to be going back to normal. Just really looking forward until our neighbours in the UK and Ireland are able to do so as well as like most Manx residents I have friends and family across I can't visit at the moment.

Topseyt · 01/02/2021 15:39

Great news! I am happy for you.

Ignore the idiots who are carping and enjoy. Some people just want us all to be shut in a dark cupboard forever now. I'm not sure what they will do with themselves when lockdown ends everywhere (still some way off, I know).

sticksandbones · 01/02/2021 15:40

I would like to think we will get there at some point (the whole of the uk)

If the whole of the UK all get to the Isle of Man then there will be no Isle of Man left to go to Grin

dottiedaisee · 01/02/2021 15:40

That’s great...enjoy your freedom 💐🍾

sticksandbones · 01/02/2021 15:41

The Isle of Man isn't part of the UK, nor is it part of Great Britain. It's part of the British Isles but that's it.
Shmithecat2 · 01/02/2021 15:43

Chuffed for you OP, and not a tiny bit jealous EnvyGrin

MrsPerfect12 · 01/02/2021 15:43

Fab news!

Biscoffaddict · 01/02/2021 15:44

I’d be gloating to if I was the OP.

newlabelwriter · 01/02/2021 15:44

Lucky you! Enjoy - am in London and feel like we’ve been in lockdown for years 🙄 must be brilliant to be out the other side

organisedmother · 01/02/2021 15:44

So not looking for a congrats r u... ur looking for people to be jealous as most are still suffering in lockdown, this is kinda sick!
u should of sent this to your Isle of Man pals for a celebration

ScottChegg · 01/02/2021 15:45

It is so strange to see the photos in the link of normal life going on somewhere that looks recognisably British and to know that it is not from before but now. I almost got a tear in my eye. I hope that is us relatively soon!

lockeddownandcrazy · 01/02/2021 15:46

Well jealous :-)

littlepattilou · 01/02/2021 15:46

@littlelove84 Rub salt into the wounds why don'tcha? Grin

Just kidding. I'm chuffed for you all. Smile

I hope the rest of the UK will be in your situation soon!

raindough · 01/02/2021 15:48

England’s probably going to be out of lockdown soon - March 8th earliest, which only 5 weeks. I mean, look how fast January flew by - this month will too. There’s no reason to be nasty towards others when we’re going to be free soon too.

Congratulations OP - I’m super happy for you

BlackeyedSusan · 01/02/2021 15:49

post us some photos.... makes a change from seeing the same thing out the bloody window. really excited as we are going out today. to the test centre. so get to see roads and stuff. Grin

lightand · 01/02/2021 15:50

Happy for you all.
For a brief time, I was considering our next move to be to the Isle of Man.
Your house prices may rocket.

Bagamoyo1 · 01/02/2021 15:51

I'm happy for you, and I'm happy that you're happy, but I'm curious as to why you posted on MN, where so many of us are really struggling with lockdown. Could you not just celebrate with your friends?

SoupDragon · 01/02/2021 15:51

"Congratulations" "well done" ?? 😂😂 I mean, it's good news, p but I suspect all the OP has done is sit at home on the sofa. Not sure it's worthy of congratulations 😂

Bagamoyo1 · 01/02/2021 15:52

Are you joking? March 8th the is very earliest that schools might open again, for some year groups, if the teaching unions agree. All the other restrictions will still be in place.
JingsMahBucket · 01/02/2021 15:52

@peak2021
Well no bum sex I assume to celebrate, or has the Isle of Man changed the laws on that?

What the flying fuck? Talk about an irrelevant axe to grind.
