GP rang me with cancellation for tomorrow!

My son is CEV and only 6, so I've been really fretting as he cannot be vaccinated. I've just come off the phone from our doctors surgery and they are offering me a cancellation Pfizer tomorrow as I'm a carer!
I'm not going to lie, I cried 🤣
One step closer to the end of this hell.

Congratulations op.

I can see the gp surgery from our house. Very tempted to hang around the door in a nonchalant manner hoping for a cancelation. I won't, but I'm tempted. Grin

love it. Was just thinking this morning of a 6 year old i know living with cancer how fab would it be if his parents were vaccinated.
hope you're having a little dance, and have another after having it tomorrow

@knittingaddict I wonder if you rang them and said you could be there with a moment's notice if there is waste/cancellation, would they let you?
Better than going to waste
I think I'd ring them

Wonderful 🥳

It may be possible to vaccinate CEV children off licence now and you can check with the relevant paediatric team whether that is now possible.

ofwarren · 01/02/2021 13:40

@herecomesthsun He has an appointment with his consultant in 2 weeks so it will be interesting to see what they say

I’m so pleased for you. I remember you from the early Covid threads.

My CEV son was vaccinated this morning, he’s 16.

Jonathan Van Tam did say on the press conference last week that even though it is not licensed for children, there can de a discussion between parents and medical staff to decide if the child can have it.

I also remember you from the early covid threads. I am so so pleased for you and your family.

Brilliant - I found out I unexpectantly qualified due to my job. I was so lucky to get a vaccination within 24 hours and leapt at it, so know how you feel. I think I caught it right though, as this vaccination centre only issues appointments 2/3 days at a time and my colleagues can't get one. Already booked in for my second dose 11 weeks time.

On top of getting the vaccine, I also got a trip out somewhere different, so that's a plus as well!

I wouldn't, but only because they have sent 2 text messages recently.
One to say that they are only doing emergencies at the moment due to the vaccine program and the other was about the amount of abuse they are getting. Obviously I wouldn't dream of being abusive, but I get the impression that they are very busy and it's probably quite stressful.

My husband should be getting his first as he is 63 and I might get him to mention me when he has his. I'm 57, so should get the vaccine this spring, hopefully.

It's just so lovely to hear that people are waiting patiently and then get the vaccine when they are least expecting it. The more people that receive it the better the future looks.
