Sore throat from (weekly) Covid tests

At work we're having weekly Covid tests but I seem to have a pretty much constant sore throat after them.

Is this normal? Does anyone else have this?

Tests are going to be twice a week from next week so I'm concerned it's going to be worse

I have this. I have to take two tests a week.

All my colleagues look at me blankly when I say that I've had a sore throat for about 4-5 days after every test.

When it happened after the first one I thought it might have just been because the nurse was a bit heavy handed but subsequent tests have been done by different people and have felt different each time (more gentle, less gagging on my part ) but I've still ended up with the sore throat.

I’ve had this. Got so bad after a few weeks of two tests a week that I had to have time off work! It’s the lateral flo one and the dr said it’s just as effective to put it up both nostrils as throat and one nostril so work have said that’s fine. It was making me feel so ill!

I get swabbed 5 times per fortnight and my nose bleeds every time now - not much, but enough to be annoying.

Yes I'm the only one with a sore throat. I'm a sensitive soul

Yes this is a lateral flow one but not self-administered (unless you want to DIY)

The nostril bit doesn't bother me so maybe this is the way forward...

I always seem to have a sore throat thought it was from 10 hours a day all week wearing a mask.I do lateral flow as well so maybe a mixture of both.

I don't have to wear a mask very much at all so pretty sure my sore throat is down to the tests.
