I know this thread is done to death so apologies but I'm just wondering how long test results are taking at the moment. I'm south east London. Thanks

Yes, last week

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 31/01/2021 17:41

North London, easy to get PCR test and a 3 day wait for result by text

Woolysock · 31/01/2021 17:43

In zone 2 London, we received our PCR test results back in less than 24 hours, had tests at 8.30am Sunday, results in email inbox Monday at 7.30am

BrrrIsland · 31/01/2021 17:45

My friend posted her test yesterday morning and received her results today. Probably about 30 hours. Central London.

BrrrIsland · 31/01/2021 17:46

Obviously it was a postal test. Not sure how much location effects turn around with them.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 31/01/2021 17:50

I am so sorry it was 2day for results, I went back and checked email

kirinm · 31/01/2021 17:53

I'm desperately hoping for a 24 hour turnaround. It's for my DD who has a cough so isn't allowed into childcare. She has had a cough pretty much all winter on and off and this constant need to test is so difficult to deal with alongside work.

@kirinm have you spoken to the GP? I did this after dd’s third negative test in as many months and we agreed to try a course of antibiotics to shift any underlying stubborn infection and if they didn’t work start investigating asthma/allergies. Touch wood the antibiotics seem to have done the trick.

I felt a bit cheeky because if times were normal I wouldn’t have contacted the GP at all but she agreed with me that at the moment it was worth trying to get it under control because any covid-like symptoms are so disruptive.

No I haven't. Tbh I've just been so relieved it's not covid so I can work! Assuming this test is negative, I might contact my GP. Thanks. Was it asthma?

Doesn’t appear to have been asthma, the antibiotics seemed to do the trick (or her immune system naturally settled down after the start of the school year - much more likely tbh).

I hope you have some luck with the GP, it’s really stressful trying to juggle everything right now never mind worrying that you all have deal with covid and isolations on top. Luckily our area seem pretty quick with test results but the wait is really tense.

kirinm · 01/02/2021 07:24

We got our results back at 6am so about 13 hours! (Negative).
