Oxford Vaccine side effects

TeenMummy · 31/01/2021 02:02

I'm just wondering if I am on my own here or anyone else had side effects different from the ones stated.

I had acute kidney pain for about 4 days post vaccine. I am a mid 40s and have the vaccine due to my job. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar pain?

My parents have both had the AZ first jab. DF had no side effects, DM had a bit of a headache the next day.

People I work with have had cold like symptoms with the Oxford. I and many others had the Pfizer and just had an aching arm.

Ponoka7 · 31/01/2021 03:23

Could you have had a UTI that you fought off yourself? The vaccine might have been a coincidence.

I've had the Oxford with no side effects.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 31/01/2021 03:27

I felt very rough for 24 hours after the AZ jab, but no kidney pain.

Are you sure it isn't coincidence?

TeenMummy · 31/01/2021 04:27

Yeah I don't ever have kidney pain or UTIs. Urine clear and spoke to a colleague who's had similar kidney pain for a few days. Also had the arm pain but that's expected.

Big thread here:

In the nicest possible way, I think it would be far more helpful,to have all the 'side effects' posts together on one thread. When it starts scattering round many, it all gets much harder to find them all; but if you don't find them all you don't get the benefit of what everyone else has been posting

BeyondAZParanoia · 31/01/2021 11:23

I have a thread about my own, OP

Please report the side effect here yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/. Every bit of information like this is helpful....

BeyondAZParanoia · 31/01/2021 18:14

For side effects listed on the patient info leaflet, I agree rose. But in the case of OP (and myself), we have had reactions that aren't listed. I think that's worth a thread of its own, for reassurance if nothing else.

Trust me, it's actually quite hard to find support as the world atm is split between pro-vaccine "don't-put-people-off, even at your own expense", and the antivax "everything is scary ingredients that are going to kill you".

I've just been reading elsewhere of someone who is hospitalised following a severe adverse reaction. Her comments have been lost downpage between all of the people complaining that they had a fever and a sore arm. 😠

felineflutter · 31/01/2021 18:56

Sore arm
Chills
Fever/sweats
Muscle aches
Headache
Weakness

Worst of symptoms resolved after 16hrs fully recovered after 3 days.
