I am beyond broken if this means we can't get to any kind of normality.

I'm annoyed trump has muscled in on this.😂

LastTrainEast · 30/01/2021 23:02

Let the WHO make and give away their own. Let anyone wanting to give away ours make their own.

Anyone in favour of it should register their position so we can be sure they do not get the vaccine themselves.

LastTrainEast · 30/01/2021 23:03

@FTMF30

Why do you think it means we won't go back to normal? The aim was always to vaccinate the vulnerable to allow restrictions to be lifted. It's not such a deadly disease to those who aren't vulnerable.
Wrong. Lots of vulnerable people can't be vaccinated and if they are won't be completely protected so we need to ensure no one else has it for them to catch it.

That includes pregnant women at the moment too.

LastTrainEast · 30/01/2021 23:09

@Perfect28

For me, the fact we are doing so well at vaccinating just shows how selfish we are. We need to think of ourselves as a global community so I absolutely think that WHO are right, after the vulnerable are vaccinated the priority should be to vaccinate the vulnerable elsewhere.
I just wanted to quote that to make sure no one missed it.

if the "fact we are doing so well at vaccinating just shows how selfish we are" I guess that makes the EU almost angels for their decision to waste time and not get started until much later.

I really hope you're not going to accept the vaccine yourself until everyone in the 3rd world has been done.

Littleowl1 summary seems to actually sum it up.
People seem to have guardian in higher esteem to others but seems just as bad to me.
Why I tend to read several papers and then think stories prob somewhere in between .
Also often worth finding or if they include it all that has been said rather than snippets that can be used to suit whoever's agenda .

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 30/01/2021 23:12

@itsgettingweird thanks for posting littleowls response I hadn't seen it and that actually makes a lot of sense

MarshaBradyo · 30/01/2021 23:15

The Guardian has been bad the way through. Shoddy. I didn’t see LittleOwl’s post either. Thanks for that

BelleHathor · 30/01/2021 23:15

The WHO should concentrate on inspecting the Wuhan Lab which they have just gained access to in the last week and also answer why their Chief Tedros is currently accused of genocide ww.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9052247/WHO-chief-Tedros-Ghebreyseus-accused-aiding-genocide-Ethiopia-nobel-peace-prize-nominee.html

All the papers have been awful with a lot of reporting , re: rules and all sorts . Some of headlines are shocking the amount if people I know who quote a headline but haven't read the story , so guess it works

trulydelicious · 30/01/2021 23:35

@Perfect28

Tell you what guys, why don't we do a Trump and leave the WHO

Who can blame him? They are responsible for this nightmare - they encouraged countries to follow detrimental advice at the beginning

It's almost as if they ensured this virus outbreak turned into a pandemic so that they could justify their existence and grab more power

stripeyIIIIItscmsfkmf · 30/01/2021 23:36

Oh good we're into loony conspiracy theory mode now!

marbellamarc · 30/01/2021 23:38

* People seem to have guardian in higher esteem to others but seems just as bad to me.

Guardian are pretty shoddy now.

Why I tend to read several papers and then think stories prob somewhere in between

Yep & if a paper quotes another story or a person I try & and read that as often context is lacking.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/01/2021 23:40

The WHO should concentrate on inspecting the Wuhan Lab ...

I'm the last to give the WHO any undeserved credit, but in fairness they're utterly reliant on the Chinese regime for access to anything at all - to say nothing of China's money

And does anyone seriously imagine that the regime will be entirely open about anything where they'd rather not?

nonono1 · 30/01/2021 23:40

Yes, thanks Little Owl - your post made me feel better.

HeddaGarbled · 30/01/2021 23:41

China is apparently back to normally they arnt reaching out are they

Dear god, the ignorance 🤷‍♀️

Dongdingdong · 30/01/2021 23:44

China is apparently back to normally

Honestly, who the heck knows.

trulydelicious · 30/01/2021 23:47

@marbellamarc

how do you determine the list of countries & people who need it more

It will be dictated by a gang of globalist WHO despotic bureaucrats. It will not stop at vaccines though - why not continue with food, housing, education, medicine...

trulydelicious · 30/01/2021 23:48

@IrmaFayLear

Well, I feel violated by the hypocrisy of the WHO

Exactly. Who are they to order us about?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/01/2021 23:51

Lots of vulnerable people can't be vaccinated and if they are won't be completely protected so we need to ensure no one else has it for them to catch it

Short of holding people down for a jab that simply won't happen - and that's not even allowing for others entering the country, mutations, doubts about transmission from the vaccinated and all the rest

Nice as it would be it'll never be possible for the vulnerable to be "completely protected", and I'd suggest it's unkind to encourage them to think this way

HeddaGarbled · 30/01/2021 23:51

From the BBC: ‘Analysts point to China's bid to win the vaccine diplomacy race, which has also reportedly seen China's President Xi Jinping pledge to set aside $2bn for the African continent, while also offering Latin American and Caribbean countries a $1bn loan to buy vaccines’

This has not been a secret. Do you not ever read or watch the news at all?

BelleHathor · 30/01/2021 23:52

I was being facetious 😉 No credit to the WHO from me at all, they facilitated the CCP lies and knowingly obfuscated (masks, asymptomatic transmission etc) which directly caused the mass spread and deaths. A year is a long time to get rid of any inconvenient evidence/people.
trulydelicious · 30/01/2021 23:55

@StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind

The WHO are saying the UK should be sharing out vaccines because of the Trump-like behaviour of the EU in the past few days

Are you a mind reader?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 30/01/2021 23:58

Before getting too impressed, HeddaGarbled, you might want to look at the background (and probable motivations) for China's investment in Africa

To believe they're doing it out of altruism is naive in the extreme, and since it's believed they had a hard time with the British running things I'll be interested to see how they get on with this particular regime - especially with the CCP's current attitude around human rights

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/01/2021 00:01

I was being facetious

Ah - apologies, BelleHathor; for a dreadful moment there I thought you meant it!!

Though I doubt the regime would require an entire year to get rid of anything or anyone inconvenient Wink

ElectraBlue · 31/01/2021 00:01

WHO can go whistle...we are a sovereign nation and will do what we think is best for our citizens and to get our lives back.
