Will we ever look back with nostalgia?

I was just thinking about how the pandemic and lockdown are often compared to WW2 and I was wondering if one day we will ever look back with nostalgia? And if so what will we be nostalgic about?

It also got me thinking how strange the nostalgia for WW2 is, surely living through it would have been far worse than the pandemic? Husbands, sons and brothers being shipped overseas to fight. Rationing and going without food, the real possibility a bomb will drop on your house killing you and your children. Seems mad people look back with such fondness? Is it a survival technique or is it mainly people who were children in the war who didn’t understand or weren’t even born?

I won't look back in nostalgia. More shock at how quickly the government took away our basic freedoms with very little parliamentary scrutiny. The Civil Contingencies act was meant to be the vehicle to do this which included regular parliamentary scrutiny and challenge but they just bypassed it.

I was always against a written constitution but now I see the wisdom of the American forefathers who wrote their constitution and even withstood Donald Trump.

In the public inquiry to this which will no doubt out off any findings for years, I want to see this answered.

I’m already looking back to Lockdown 1 with nostalgia; the sun was shining, we went on lots of walks, school weren’t putting the pressure on, and we thought it wouldn’t last long. Fast forward to Lockdown 3 and this is utterly shit, we barely move, school and work are stressing me out, and I’m worried about the impact upon my child. 1-maybe. 2,and 3- nope!
