Ds just came into the room proclaiming he had read online that the lockdown is going to last until July 17th.
Thinking dear God no I thought, I cannot possibly go on like this until then, so I grabbed my iPad and saw that it wasn’t quite that bleak.
What it seems the govt have done, is sneakily passed some more legislation giving local authorities power to impose lockdowns in their areas as they see fit until July 17th.

I’m not sure if I’m now even more depressed now (if that is even possible) or not that we are looking at July. I already knew it, but somehow seeing it enacted makes it real.

Fucking July.

nothing sneaky about it.....it was all in the media last week!

I prefer to look at it as local authorities won’t have powers to impose lockdowns after July 17th so we should be back to normal by then......

Really? Oh well, it completely passed me by. Going to crawl back into my pit of despair now. As you were.

My son did the same - I assumed he’d found information from last year!? I don’t understand why that would be put in place as lockdowns have been announced as and when necessary as circumstances change. Why choose a specific date after which it can’t happen if it needs to, I’m clearly missing something!

As for it continuing until then - maybe, is it a way of paving the way for schools to not return until the next academic year...who knows (nobody presumably!?).
