So, the NEU have just launched a campaign to try and support the poorest students during school closures.
They have pledged £1 million of union funds to be given as vouchers to schools. The schools can then spend this on essential resources for their poorest students, who don't have facilities such as basic stationery.
However, they are also asking for donations- including from the wider public. The more donations received, the more money can be distributed to schools, and the more resources can be provided.
Obviously, this shouldn't be down to an education union to provide, but the government's response (as with everything) has been horribly delayed and inadequate, and schools have no additional funding to spend on resources.

Given so many parents on mumsnet are so concerned about disadvantaged children during lockdown, I am sure people would love to help out.
