Dh has received a notification today via track and trace saying he has to self isolate for 6 days.
Work have been really off with him about it. His job as an engineer means he works in care homes all day. He is regularly doing lateral flow tests
Am I right in thinking this contact would have been on Friday?
He was working with a guy all day at every job yet this guy has not had a notification. He also has the app.
My husband hasn't been anywhere else. He popped into a BP to pay for fuel that was it. We don't go anywhere or see anybody.
Where do we go from here?! His work are saying it must have been unrelated to work and therefore won't pay him 😔

So its from test and trace and not the app?
If its test and trace then someone must have given his details as a contact
He should get SSP from the start of isolation

Esmerelda01 · 26/01/2021 21:54

Sorry, its from the NHS Covid 19 app

There's a bit in the app that tells you when contact was.

Think he can still get SSP

111.nhs.uk/isolation-note/

For his employer

very tricky situation but if it's the app then I know you're not legally obliged to self isolate .If you get a call then you area.
This is precisely why hospitals and schools are asking staff to disable the apps at work as people are being pinged all over the place and they can't realistically have everyone off unless there is real reason to believe people have been within close contact of each other.
Heard lots of threads on here about people getting pinged when they haven't even left the house. If he needs the money then I suspect he needs to continue to go to work .

Hospital staff will be wearing PPE which is why they don't need the app on.

Whats the point in having the app if people are going to ignore it?
