Chest pain when breathing first symptom?

Has anyone experienced chest pain across chest and upper back along without a cough, as an early symptom? Did the cough and temp come later? Other symptoms so far are exhaustion, headache and abdominal pain. Thanks.

Yes I had chest and back pain as first symptoms, then fever. I never got a cough.

ChablisandCrisps · 25/01/2021 18:41

@kitcat122 can I ask what day the fever came in? Thanks.

I’ve been for a test this evening. Sense of smell has diminished and I have a tight chest.

TranquilityofSolitude · 25/01/2021 18:44

DH had chest and back pain a couple of weeks ago. He went for a test and it came back negative.

AnaisNun · 25/01/2021 18:47

I never had a test as it was March, but my GP seemed to think it was Covid (based on positive tests amongst GP staff and the way my illness matched their symptoms)- my symptoms were (in roughly this order):

Sore eyes - woke up feeling like I had hayfever. I’ve never had hayfever.
Slight light aversion
Headache
Diarrhoea
Fatigue
Pain in upper back, chest and ribs
“Spaced out” feeling
Cough
Breathlessness
Anxiety

I’d say most symptoms eased after a few days/ a week. Pain in back & cough lasted about a month.
At no point was I too unwell to work / look after my child- though it was an enormous struggle and in hindsight I probably should have been in bed.

Yes, I had chest pains and chest tightness before any other symptoms, for a few days. Infact it's why I first went to the doctors, as they were concerned and were quite convinced it wasn't covid. A couple of days after visiting the doctors I tested positive for covid.

The chest pain and tightness were my worst symptoms throughout.

Awful

Day 14 now and on the road to recovery

KatySun · 25/01/2021 19:28

Yes, chest pain which unfortunately got a good deal worse. I still get it now but it has much improved (ten months on). All the best Flowers

I've woken up today with a temp of 39 and my head is agony. Cough very inconsistent so wouldn't say it counts? But chest is still sore and I feel sick with a tummy ache. My test was unable to be read annoyingly so going for another one later.

@Idontbelieveit12 I hope you are feeling ok and your test comes back today so you aren't in limbo.

@Suedo yes retest if you are still feeling unwell. My test yesterday was day two of symptoms but was unable to be read so today is day 3. I feel awful, temp still really high, eyes on fire, headache all day and pain in my chest and back when I breathe. I will hopefully get my results tomorrow morning so will let you know how I got on.
