My chest has felt a little tight at times the past couple of days. Today I’ve been at work and couldn’t smell the cleaning products until they were literally under my nose. I usually have a very sensitive sense of smell. I feel a bit sort of congested and not 100%. I’ve booked a test for this evening. Just interested to know how it started for everyone else.

I’m watching with interest as my sense of taste is gone but I can still smell. I’ve also booked a test. Hopefully it’s just in my head!

Day one - tickling throat like I was coming down with chest infection. Days 2-5 - headache, sore eyes and chills. Bit of a cough. Lost smell day 5 when I thought I was on the mend.

SIL poured herself a glass of wine and after a sip she found that it tasted horrible so she poured the whole bottle out as she thought it had gone off. Her DH came in the kitchen and she told him about it. He picked up the bottle, sniffed it and said," Honey, you need to get a covid19 test" ...She got a positive result although the loss of smell and taste were her only symptoms

@Idontbelieveit12
You might be in the very early stages

Sinus congestion and ear ache! I'm on 3 day of positive test and have had none of the main symptoms.

Headache first, then fatigue, sore throat and blocked nose. No cough, fever or loss of taste/smell.

Badabingbadabum · 26/01/2021 06:23

Sneezing, tickly throat, headachey, a bit feverish but no raised temperature at all. Slight cough and heavy chest after a couple of days and then my sense of taste and smell totally disappeared.

SandysMam · 26/01/2021 06:28

Sneezing and sore throat, classic cold symptoms. Taste and smell went gradually.

SandysMam · 26/01/2021 06:28

Oh and terrible headache

BurningRed · 26/01/2021 06:42

Lower back pain and chills in the evening. The cough started next morning along with waking up with a fever, awful headache and then eventually loosing smell and taste sences on day 3/4.

I realised I couldn't taste very well when I was eating something which is normally strongly flavoured and then went on to find I couldn't smell anything at all. I had a VERY mild cold in the days before that but I didn't identify them as COVID symptoms. Losing my taste and smell was what made me test and it was positive. Taste and smell returned within a few days and I do think that if I hadn't eaten something strongly flavoured and noticed then I may never have known I had it. Its harder than you think to identify loss of taste and smell!
