Lockdown until September?

Did you read the article or just post a scaremongering thread title on here to gauge a reaction? It’s about extending the powers given under the coronavirus act that have to be extended in 6 month blocks. We will not be in lockdown until September it’s not possible or necessary and people won’t stand for it. Boris has arranged an international summit to be held in Cornwall in June that should tell you as much as you need to know.

It should probably be, some restrictions until September.

There will be some restrictions for the whole of 2021. I'm amazed that people don't realise that. You are not going to be able to have a massive gig in Wembley arena or go to Glastonbury or probably even go to a nightclub or theatre. A lot of venues are going to continue to require you to wear a mask. All of these things require legislation to be in place to allow the rules to be enforced. It does not mean you are going to be locked inside your house until September.

I read lockdown was extended until 17th July.My husband showed me as it reffered to pubs not reopening until then. I think it had to be extended by six months not that it will be used until then.No one knows what is going on we just have to be patient and get through week for week.

@Squashpocket Glastonbury's been cancelled this year. I don't think anyone thinks they will be going to big festivals this year

What @Squashpocket said. Once the over 50s have been vaccinated, it will be a quick slide into tier 3. The two and one as things ease, then back up in September/October when they rise again.

If I can have a tier one summer, I'll be happy.

I hope the world does not "descend on Cornwall". We aren't a theme park and are certainly not infection free.

I thought it was councils had been given the option to keep restrictions in place until July 17th if they need to.

Which is not exactly the same thing.

He spoke of perhaps lifting some mid February just now but I expect some will probably be all year

To scaremonger?
To make people feel even more shit than they possibly already do?

Why will we go back up the tiers when everyone has been vaccinated in Autumn?

I went to Cornwall in August and it was far from terrible 🙄

Funny how all these people went to Cornwall but it was the only place that stayed in tier 1 for ages.

Nobody has a clue, including the government. There's so much conflicting information out today it's self. No schools until Easter, pubs reopening in April, lockdown laws until 17th July and now lockdown until September. I've seen all these things in the space of twenty minutes whilst scrolling through Twitter.
All we can do is have hope that we're allowed freedom soon, and wait for official announcements from BoJo and his group of clowns.

And no, lockdown won't be going on in full force untill September, probably a few measures here and there like SD but nothing like what we have the at the moment
