Has your cleaner been coming?

Not a big problem I know but wondered what others are doing. Our cleaner stopped coming between March and the summer. I then asked her to return as things seemed a bit better.

I asked her to wear a mask but I’m not 100% sure if she wears it all the time as I keep well out her way when she’s here.

She messaged me today to say she has tested positive. We will obviously self isolate and it’s upset me to think I’ve put my family at risk.

What are others doing?

No too high a risk. We offered to pay in first lock down for her not coming but she refused despite trying to insist. Now doing it ourselves.

I have elderly relatives who employ a cleaner. They had her come over the summer and through the latest lockdowns but since their vaccinations are imminent they've stopped her coming for the time being and will have her back three weeks after they have both been jabbed. They are still paying her and will be keeping up with masks/ distancing etc when she comes back.

First lockdown we asked our cleaner not to come and continued to pay them. This time round they are coming and we leave the house before they get here and leave all the windows wide open an hour before and after they have been.

No, we stopped in lockdown 1. Restarted over the summer. Stopped for this lockdown. I do it myself now. It’s too high risk IMO and just adds exposure which I don’t personally consider essential

No we stopped in lockdown 1 but I'm really missing them. Had a back problem for the last 2 months and not been able to clean at all so it's all been oh DH. He manages OK hut is also working full time so it's tough on him. I can't wait to get them back.

Ours stopped last time, but is coming this time. Same as others, she wears a mask, windows are open before during and after. She said about half of her clients had stopped, half not.

Thank you, I can’t decide what to do going forward. I paid her in the spring which she felt awful about. She wants to work.

@Thesunrising* we’ve done similar, she cleans downstairs early morning while we’re still upstairs and I make sure the windows are open. It must be a very small risk. But on the other hand, why take the risk?

Mine is still coming.
We stay in one room while she is here or go out.
I don't see it is a risk at all.
She wears a mask, and we have increased ventilation. Hadn't even thought it was increasing our risk.
