Isolating Family. Anyone from Test and Trace??

Hoping someone can clear up for me what we need to do:

10th/jan DH developed covid symptoms so all isolated until 20th. On 19th jan DD1 developed a cough - we weren't planning on going anywhere for a while so rather than test her (she is autistic and doesn't cope well with the tests) we decided we needed to continue isolating. She agreed to test yesterday after also losing her smell (23rd jan) came back positive.

Now when I look at this

bbc link - isolation of family

as her symptoms started during our isolation then in theory only she has to isolate (away from us in her room - she is an adult)? Unless we develop symptoms and then whoever has symptoms will isolate. T&T haven't yet been in touch so we haven't yet spoken to them.

Yes you’re correct in your assumption that only DD1 will need to extend her isolation period

Thank you. I am just about to fill out the test and trace form but nowhere does it an if we were already in isolation. Hope it doesn't send us all back into isolation Sad

Bumping in case anyone knows how We deal with crossover of isolation when there doesn't appear to an option on the form Sad

Have you and DH tested and are you Positive or Negative?

You can call NHS Test and Trace on 119 and ask their advice.

takingthebiscuits · 24/01/2021 21:16

When did you get Positive result for DD?

takingthebiscuits · 24/01/2021 21:19

If you and DH haven’t Tested then DD is your first confirmed Positive so probably you do all need to start isolation again as a household?

takingthebiscuits · 24/01/2021 21:21

First day of symptoms of DD is then day 0 plus 10 clear days for isolation, after that depends on symptoms and test results for other household members during the above.

She has additional needs so it depends whether she'd cope with isolating in her room.

Sorry should have said DH got his positive test first symptoms started 10th Jan, result came through on 12th. We all isolated as per instruction from T&T - we were told to isolate up to and including 20th.

Dd symptoms came on during isolation (19th). We only tested her yesterday (23rd) though - result came through today.

I had symptoms 2 days into isolating but got a negative result, tested again 2 days later as still had symptoms and still negative.

Dd2 - no symptoms at all.

Dd1 is 18 and is happy to stay in her room. She barely leaves it anyway which is why I am surprised she caught it from DH as he then isolated in dd2 room while she came in with me.

@takingthebiscuits Thank you, I will call them tomorrow - I partially filled out the form dd1 got to fill out (I deal with all paperwork for her) She has been told to isolate until midnight Friday but haven't dealt with us as contacts yet will do that after I have spoken to them.
