Hang on a sec whilst I consult my crystal ball...

ChocOrange1 · 24/01/2021 17:44

I think yes. Perhaps not all restrictions lifted, e.g. we will probably still have to wear masks in the shop. However I do believe that they will start lifting restrictions once the cases are low enough which, judging by the current reducing rates and the speed of vaccine roll out, will be by Easter.

However, this is just a guess and I dont as actually know (nor does anyone else)

frenchlavenderfeild · 24/01/2021 19:10

I don't know hopefully to some extent, perhaps to visit family in gardens etc. I think their will still be restrictions to some extent but really we can't know yet so its best just to take things a day at a time.

RedskyBynight · 24/01/2021 19:12

No one knows. Far too many unknowns to even hazard a reasonable guess.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/01/2021 19:16

Just a guess, but I think schools will return after Easter, and then things will start to open up gradually after that - shops, gyms, beauty, cafes, pubs, in just about that order. I’m in Scotland and we have had no household visiting since September, so I imagine that (for us) will be the last thing to return since it was the first thing to go. I can see masks being in place for a while, and social distancing.

sanityisamyth · 24/01/2021 19:16

How are we supposed to know when the government don't have a clue?!

2021welcome · 24/01/2021 19:16

I think we will be back to tier 3 by Easter

starrynight19 · 24/01/2021 19:18

Maybe but we will be reverting back to tier systems from there.

Busygoingblah · 24/01/2021 19:19

It seems more and more likely every week that there will still be significant restrictions at Easter sadly.

FTMF30 · 24/01/2021 19:20

I swear most of these lockdown speculation posts are trolls.

Cremeegg30 · 24/01/2021 19:22

I hope before, can't cope with another 3 months of this :(

Tanfastic · 24/01/2021 19:24

Might be lifted slightly but I still think there's an awful long time before we are anywhere near to back to normality.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 24/01/2021 19:28

No one knows. Personally I think some restrictions will be lifted by then but not all.

lovelyupnorth · 24/01/2021 19:32

Boris The Bollocks up won’t make any decisions till it’s too late.

User755 · 24/01/2021 19:33

No I’m really struggling with it. Have to work from home and I’m missing being in the office. I was sure we would at least be back in tiers but from something I’ve just read from Matt Hancock it doesn’t seem likely.

x2boys · 24/01/2021 19:39

Well let's hope schools are open etc ,but who knows really 🤷

FreshFreesias · 24/01/2021 19:47

I don’t think it will ever be over.
Some new virus will come along and the gov will lock us down again.
Politicians still get paid, they don’t care. They’ll just print more money and put everyone on universal credit.

x2boys · 24/01/2021 19:51

Of course it will be over ,yes the virus will mutate etc and we may get further lockdown ,but all pandemic,s end eventually and seriously why would any Government want to fuck up the economy for no good reason? The Government can only get paid if we have an economy!

GhYr · 24/01/2021 20:05

Can see schools back and perhaps shops open and more meeting outside allowed but can’t see concerts, sport pubs etc being fully up and running. They seem to be pushing the goalposts back with every press conference.

RoseMartha · 24/01/2021 20:12

I hope it will be back to tiers by then

frozendaisy · 24/01/2021 20:41

I don't even know dates for Easter this year all days blend into one apart from the lengthening daylight and weather

Cremeegg30 · 24/01/2021 21:27

From a selfish point of view I want salons and gyms open by March latest, can't cope with DIY haircuts again like last year !

mrshoho · 24/01/2021 21:31

Haven't a clue.

FuzzyPuffling · 24/01/2021 21:36

First phase groups should get their first vaccine say by the end of March, so second one end of June, plus a couple of weeks for full effectivness, so we're looking at July before the over 50s and CV are protected.
And better weather will improve things, but I think Easter is optimistic.

MarshaBradyo · 24/01/2021 21:37

Tiers I reckon
