Covid Toes?

Anyone have experience of this? 12 year old DS is absolutely well but has developed these strange painful blister type swellings on his toes/side of foot. He had his biggest toes operated on in December so please ignore those.

The swellings are painful to touch. We know they aren’t marks from shoes or slippers as he hasn’t been able to wear them/go out due to recovering from his op.

As I say he’s not unwell at all.

Both of mine have had similar. One DC toes got so swollen had to have a week of antibiotics. Doctor didn't know what is was from photos. Keep an eye as one of my DC spread badly for weeks other DC much less effected I treated it with canestan cream. Not sure if that's right but seems as doctor didn't know either I read that can help athletes foot so gave it ago. Not sure if covid we had no other symptoms so I didn't test as wasn't on other DC toes until weeks had passed.

Could they be chilblains? Especially if he hadn’t been wearing anything on his feet and they’ve been cold. My 14 year old has these and at times is in a lot of pain with them. She still won’t keep socks or slippers on though.

Both my DC never had it until march 2020 and November/December 2020 which makes me think covid toe. But that would mean we have had covid twice 🤷

They do look like chilblains. I’d be surprised as my DH insists on the house being tropical but they could well be. I remember getting these a kid. Insanely itchy.
