Is everyone back to normal??

I've been quite emotional the last couple of days wondering when life will return to normal.
Tonight I'm having to listen to next door partying again. Not a proper party, maybe one family/group of friends but music playing loudly.
Normal circumstances it wouldn't bother me but we are trying to follow the rules and it's upsetting my two that I wont let them have friends in but next door do. Children are similar ages, mine are 9 and 15 and next door are 7 and 14.

How do we get through these lockdown weeks whilst they party away? Thumping music (getting louder) whilst I type. I've had my teen in a stroppy mood tonight because I've said her best friend cant come round.

Would her best friends parents even let her come round if you did say yes?

I dont know, but then it feels wrong because we are all suppose to stay home.

Will you not let her go for a walk with her friend and get a takeout coffee or something? That’s what my dd15 has been doing a couple of times a week.

Eldest had a couple of social distance walks with friend but arguments are over that next door having regular friends round but I/we keep saying it's not allowed.

"Different families make different choices." Our constant refrain as the kids get older and spot others getting to do or have things they don't!

I don't know anyone breaking the rules bar the odd drive that isn't strictly essential, or a walk slightly further away from home than perhaps they should.

It’s not allowed and your DD has to accept that.

Under the circs I would also report next door.
