Has anyone booked a U.K holiday for Easter ?

No. Booked a UK one though for August. Here’s hoping.

LickEmbysmiling · 23/01/2021 19:36

No, I was thinking about it, even 2 nights somewhere by the sea...

Just not sure at the moment, In summer when we went away to a b and b the numbers were very low. I can't see how they would decrease that much by Easter.

DrunkenKoala · 23/01/2021 19:37

No and not tempted to either. Thinking about booking UK one for August though.

nocturnalke · 23/01/2021 19:39

Hey. Not Easter i don't think. I was meant to be going on a hen do Easter weekend near Yorkshire but all thinking it'll be cancelled. Myself and partner have booked for end of July though to go seaside though which we're 80% sure it'll go ahead!

inquietant · 23/01/2021 19:39

No, I am waiting until we know what's what.

Any region could be tier 4 after lockdown, depending on case levels locally.

ValpolicellaPrimitivo · 23/01/2021 19:39

We booked one for Easter last spring, not feeling to confident unfortunately.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 23/01/2021 19:54

No, not booking anything as it won’t be a holiday with restrictions in place and the variants spread through unnecessary travel.

CeeJay81 · 23/01/2021 19:59

No. I think June onwards, before that I can't see it happening. Got Haven deferred from last year to July, so here's hoping.

Bluewavescrashing · 23/01/2021 20:02

Yes, but through friends. No deposit and no comeback if we cancel.

SnowFields · 23/01/2021 20:05

No because the likelihood of it going ahead is very low. Even if holiday places are open, what’s the point if entertainment, restaurants and pubs etc are still closed?

Frozenintime · 23/01/2021 20:07

a family member has booked a holiday home for us and I'm 🙄. Even if lockdown has ended, it's very likely we will be in tiers

We booked a spa weekend ages ago for easter, only about half an hour away... but doubt it will happen. We won't lose any money thankfully but was looking forward to it.

Freetodowhatiwant · 23/01/2021 20:14

I have flights to Spain for Easter! I am not sure if I will be taking them but will see closer to the time and change them. I would only go if my parents have had the vaccine and of course if we are permitted to go. Spain is home to me and my parents are there but the vaccine roll out is slower and at the moment there is no sign of them getting it.

Redrivershore · 23/01/2021 20:19

We avoid bank holidays but booked touring caravan holiday in UK just after in mid April. We don't pay deposit though and can just cancel or change

Crumpetycrump · 23/01/2021 20:37

We moved our centerparcs booking from before Christmas when we were in tier 3 to Easter - I’m guessing we will be moving it again.

Lemons1571 · 23/01/2021 22:46

Yea we have an Airbnb booked. It’s on the most flexible rate though so can move it. Have noticed the owner has blocked out all dates until the start of our stay.

Watermelon999 · 23/01/2021 22:52

I’m wondering if Easter will be Christmas mark 2, but perhaps I’m being overly pessimistic....

Deliaskis · 23/01/2021 22:57

There must be many people like me who just moved later year's Easter break on by a year. So yes I do have a self catering week in Devon booked, but I've not booked it recently, and honestly last March it felt like moving it by a year would be safe enough.

Not feeling optimistic about it at the moment though, will just have to move it another year!

I don't agree with the 'it's not a holiday with restrictions' stance though. We had a few lovely SC breaks last year with a few restrictions in place. It depends on level of restrictions of course, but limited mixing and masks indoors etc don't make a big difference to many SC type breaks, and just being somewhere else, anywhere really, is hugely refreshing.

Alwaysready · 23/01/2021 22:58

We looked for May half term but thought better of it ..... got one booked for August. Hopefully want to see family at Easter other end of the country but looking less and less likely 😐

Gertie75 · 23/01/2021 23:59

We've booked Easter, May half term, two weeks in August and a few long weekends at our caravan in Wales but won't lose anything of the site is closed.
We're also booked for Feb half term but have accepted that one won't happen.

I'm a tiny bit hopeful for the Easter one.
