New symptoms after self isolating

If your family test on the same day and all test positive and then one of them has a chest infection after everyones self isolation finishes, does the whole household have to self isolate for an extra 10 days?
I am getting conflicting advice and need to know if this has happened to anyone else.

A chest infection isn't covid

13dementedpixie - the hopital treated his cough as a covid cough... he slso still tested positive in hospital... but I understand you can test positive for up to 30 days after, hence why keywords using the lateral flow test are told not to test for 30 days

You dont test for 90 days after a positive test, not 30. A covid cough can last for weeks without still being contagious

A&E told the family member they were still contagious and had to self isolate for another 10 days as well as all family members. Test and trace and 119 all say the same but a hospital dr who rang to check on the family member said not to self isolate and was suprised that I we were given different advice.
We are listening to the hospital dr but wondered if this had happened to anyone else.

You need to ring 111 or speak to your doctor who may prescribe some antibiotics for chest infection.

The hospital prescribed antibiotics, what I was asking was if we were given the wrong advice about all having to self isolate again.
