Could not read test sample?

Took our child for a test this week and results came back as ‘we could not read your coronavirus test sample’. Has anyone else had this and knows what the reason could be?

I found this on the NHS site, I wonder if there was not enough on the swab to tell. (I did my DC today and am a bit concerned as I didn't manage to take the samples for long as they were making such a fuss).

Thank you I hadn’t been able to find anything despite lots of searching. I wondered if it was something we did wrong or a problem with the test itself. We had to go and redo it today, all very stressful! Hope you get a good result!

Thanks hopefully it’s worked this time for us too, don’t want to do it a 3rd time! Hope you recovered quickly

Is that what used to be an 'Inconclusive' result then?

I’m not sure I wondered if there was a problem with the actual test. I did notice when we snapped off the test stick to seal it the stick snapped so it was shorter than it should be if that makes sense so maybe that could be why
