Hi there,
We've just had a text from our plumber who was here last Saturday to see he tested positive for covid on Wednesday. According to the nhs website, we don't need to take any action as no symptoms and we weren't in contact 48 hours before. He wore a mask whilst he was here and we weren't anywhere near him. Can I just check that we are correct to carry on as normal? Thanks

Yes you can. Just be quick to test if you develop any symptoms (not just the big 3 but things like persistent headache, muscle cramps, sore throat
diarrhoea ) over the next few days. Fingers crossed you'll be finem

Depends- when did his symptoms start?

Lifeispassingby · 22/01/2021 19:40

Sorry just read your message properly OP! Sounds like you are ok, but he could have had it on Saturday so keep any eye out for any symptoms

That's what I don't quite get with the 48 hours bit because you could have symptoms before then?

When did he take the test? and when did he develop symptoms?

waterlane · 22/01/2021 19:47

He did the test on Wednesday, he hasn't said when he got symptoms. My friend said you have to be in close proximity for 15 minutes or more but he was upstairs and we were downstairs keeping out of the way
