DH is isolating as he had contact with a pupil who tested positive last Friday. He had sore throat a minor headache over the weekend, but was ok mon and tues. since Wednesday he has been laid up with aches and headache. My friend dropped her oximeter through my door today and have just checked his levels and is says 92. Should we be concerned by this? Obviously I don’t know what his usual levels are like, he is generally healthy although had a heart bypass a few years ago. He has no cough or breathlessness at all, just fatigue aches and headache

NHS advice, home O2 readings included. www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/wp-content/uploads/sites/52/2020/12/C0719_COVID-Isolating-at-Home-Safety-Netting-Leaflet-Revised-FINAL-171220.pdf

As PP have said - keep an eye on it. Some oximeters are not terribly well calibrated but if he is unwell and it's consistently in the warning ranges then follow the advice.

@Ohbabybab thank you I will get him to do that, although he is fed up with prodding and poking him already. Its saying 99 for me so I’m guessing that it’s working fine. It’s a worry and we were both surprised by the result as he has never been this ill and it’s 7 days since he had last contact with the child who tested positive so we were thinking it was too much of a coincidence, but perhaps it is just a nasty virus he has. Just concerning as he had a lot of sudden heart problems 3 years ago and was in hospital for 2 months so anything scares me (which I know is irrational) thanks for everyone hear offering support and a hand hold, it really is appreciated x

I'm pleased to hear he got a negative but you are right to be cautious. Don't be afraid to call 111 any time for advice. Hope he feels better soon Flowers

Tbh given your update re his history abs having tested negative it would be worth an ooh appointment via 111.

They can be a bit temperamental at times and also make sure finger in correctly and dry etc.

I've had readings today of 62% (!) and a few in the 80's. I'm a severe asthmatic so often drops to low 90's so check it and use inhalers etc. I have been in hospital for asthma several times over the years so the vaccine cannot come soon enough....

However, one hand sometimes reads higher than the other so I take several readings before I panic and average them out a bit...

I have Covid and my oxygen dropped to as low as 90 during the days I felt the worst. I was very close to seeking medical attention but I turned the corner and my oxygen is not like before but at least it’s 95-96 now (my healthy levels are 98-99)
