Workmen without masks

As I sit despairing about the fact I have two children to home school, a job to hold down and a house that quite frankly looks like a bomb site. I have been watching over the weeks a stream of workmen come into the house next door. Not one of whom has ever worn a mask. The house is occupied but the owners are the sort who quite frankly don't pay a blind bit of attention to the rules. Many of the workmen appear to be relatives given the backslapping and general jollity.

It's driving me mad. Is there any law stating that workmen should be wearing masks? I'd love to report them but know it would cause trouble - we've already glared at the family members who came and went everyday over the Christmas holidays (couldn't help it given the fact we cancelled our plans trying to be responsible). It's honestly getting me down. Any support, ideas or just reassurance I'm not alone in all this.

It's just so frustrating when my world is collapsing and others are carrying on as normal.

This is quite widespread to be honest. We had our kitchen and asked the fitters to wear masks - they said that they wouldn't be able to wear them while doing the type of work involved and a compromise was agreed that they would keep the windows open and the door to the rest of the house shut. I didn't really feel like I had much choice in this and I do sort of understand with how long the kitchen took that it would have been genuinely difficult to do with masks on. However, they needed to get an electrician round to help them and none of them wore masks while they were working together in my small kitchen (noticed when I had to briefly go in, with a mask on) so if one of them had it could have easily transmitted it to the others. I'm sure its happening in houses up and down the country.

Haven’t seen a single tradesmen wearing a mask in my parts. They’re too macho. 😂

Weird, every workman visitor we've had or seen has been masked. They haven't asked us to mask up, I try to scurry out of sight, anyway.

I moved house and the removal men wore masks throughout.
