Migraine a symptom?

I went to bed at 9 last night with what I assume was a migraine, I'm not a sufferer.
It's kept me up all night, I feel atrocious, it's like I've drunk a couple of bottles of red wine painful, chuck a whisky or two on top sore.
I went to work yesterday for the first time since Christmas, my day to be in charge of safeguarding at school. I was in my office alone but had visitors, they were sd and we wore masks but I can't help feel I might have caught it. Or it's just coincidence that the first time I leave the house I get ill.
But a headache isn't a main symptom, however reading on here lots of people get them.
Just rambling really as can't sleep

Not a main symptom but people have reported it. I don’t think you’d get a test on just that.

Hope you feel better soon.

My mum had a migraine as her first symptom

DinosaurDiana · 22/01/2021 07:46

Could it be that you were anxious, as it was your first day back, and that caused your headache ?

Remmy123 · 22/01/2021 07:51

I had migraine last night .. hot and cold - feeel totally fine this morning

TheGreatWave · 22/01/2021 07:51

I have no idea if the headache means something, but you will not have caught it and come down with symptoms on the same day.

Subeccoo · 22/01/2021 08:17

Still got it, have called in sick anyway as its painful and I haven't slept.
Hopefully a few hours sleep will help, it just won't shift though Sad

I had to attend hospital for a scan recently the covid info letter sent out the day before said do not attend of you have symptoms of covid 19. These symptoms are high temperature, cough or headache.
Surprised me as I haven't seen headache as a main symptom anywhere else I've looked on gov sites etc.

slidingdrawers · 22/01/2021 08:31

Analysis of self reporting via the Covid symptom study app showed a headache is often one of the first presenting symptoms and is associated with 80% of positive cases.

Every time I've logged a migraine with the Zoe symptom study it's sent me for a test. Autumn/winter is migraine season for me, so far I've had 11 🙈 all negative thankfully but it points to it being a potential symptom for enough people to warrant the constant test requests.

SeldomFollowedIt · 22/01/2021 12:22

Yes everyone I know including myself had a continuous headache. I suffer from migraines so to me they felt very similar. The pattern was very different though and I had the headache for a whole week.
Usually my migraines are going within 6 hours.
It was the worst symptom I’ve had, plus many of my friends and family.

Crumpetycrump · 22/01/2021 12:25

I’m going for a test today as I have had a headache for over a week - the Zoe symptom study has asked me to.

bigbulk · 22/01/2021 12:25

yep headache was my worst symptom, still got it 3 weeks later and dizziness and nausea, then my taste and smell went on day 5, still not back

heckythump01 · 22/01/2021 12:39

Migraine was my first symptoms then a high temp of 39.8...I would get tested for your own piece of mind.

ConfusedcomMum · 22/01/2021 12:54

This was my first symptom. Felt like a sinus, tension and head cold type headache. It was really painful to look up.

Subeccoo · 22/01/2021 22:59

I do have covid, had a test this morning and it just came back. So, headache is definitely a real symptom. Keep safe all

I had a migraine type headache for four days with vomiting for 24 hours then horrifically tired and felt terrible. Couldn’t even use my phone, read a book or watch tv. Just lay there. Was ill for six or seven days and it was a few weeks before I felt well. I don’t know anyone with covid and no one I know had got it since I was ill. Could it have been covid? I assumed not because the main symptom was the headache and feeling like I was dying. No cough.

Subeccoo · 22/01/2021 23:10

Oh god, definitely feel like there's worse to come Sad

You poor thing. I'm so glad you had a test. Shame on the government for not including this symptom in the testing criteria.
I hope you feel better soon.

Oh no! Well look after yourself.

Did you have a fever or temp?

soundofsilence1 · 23/01/2021 07:42

Headache was the first symptom for me and then fatigue and cold like symptoms a couple of days later. No other symptoms and better in 10 days. I had a positive test.

Subeccoo · 23/01/2021 07:59

No other symptoms but that first night I was a bit hot and cold and didn't sleep a wink.
Slept better last night, definitely got a bit of a cough, still a headache and general achiness. Feel rough but not horrendous.
