How long until your symptoms eased off?

I fell ill with fever and muscle ache suddenly on Sunday, tested positive on Monday. Main symptoms were: fever, headache, nausea, heavy chest, extreme weakness/tiredness.
Yesterday had an onset of sudden shooting pains throughout the body, one particularly uncomfortable one was in my breast.
Today feeling much better, but sad and blue , and also can only taste food and drink at the front of my mouth (I can't explain it, as if the rest of my mouth is numb).
I'm wondering now, if there's anything else coming my way?!? Feels like Hunger Games for my body and mind.

21 days here and starting to feel a bit more human. I did end up in hospital after dehydrating with diarrhea and vomiting though. Take it very easy. Keep taking the paracetamol and keep drinking. I feel like my energy levels are still rock bottom. I really hope you start to feel brighter soon. Take care of yourself.

It was a week, then just a cough and loss of taste and smell for another week and a half.

Porcupineintherough · 21/01/2021 21:02

First time 21 days, that was brutal.
Second time was mild, 7 days.

thecatmother · 21/01/2021 21:34

Thank you so much for sharing... the thought of having it for 21 days and over is very scary. I hope that you all are getting better .

First few days: cough and very tired. Fever just for 1 day.

Following week - as above, plus diarrhoea.

Then continued with cough and tiredness, but tiredness diminished noticeably from day 15

Today is day 21. Small amount of residual cough, energy nearly back to normal.

I’m 57, obese and have diabetes, so prime candidate for more severe Covid. Have been taking high dose vitamin D since February. That may be completely irrelevant, or it may have helped.

day 18ish here and its been a long slog but finally feel like im coming out of it now. head was finally feeling clear today

PomfretTowers · 21/01/2021 23:13

First time had symptoms for 35 days (back in March, not tested.) Second time 12 days of symptoms - positive test, much milder case.

BrokenCircle · 21/01/2021 23:15

Just over two weeks before I started to feel human again, but I’m still suffering a bit three months on.

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 21/01/2021 23:20

I think because it’s 10 days isolation it gives you a false sense of security that you should feel totally better by then but that’s just the period of contagion.
I felt like crap a good 4 weeks with a headache for about 3 of those. The tiredness lasted the longest and I’m still not back to where I was fitness wise.
Just take it easy on yourself and rest when you can.
I know what you mean about your mouth. I got covid tongue and it felt like it had been burned. All numb and a bit tingly and weird.

thecatmother · 21/01/2021 23:22

I guess I better mentally prepare myself for a few weeks of this ; am on the wrong side of 40 and overweight.

65 days and counting!

rainbownamebow · 21/01/2021 23:33

Day 25 here, I had it mildly, cold like symptoms but suddenly got terrible fatigue on day 11, I only began to feel better yesterday, today I've taken it easy but felt almost normal.

ShinyGreenElephant · 21/01/2021 23:38

I had a week of feeling awful then it started to taper off - by the end of week 2 I was just exhausted with a mild cough but could go about my business as normal. Still can't smell properly 3 months later though

Poorlykitten · 21/01/2021 23:53

@PuzzledObserver can I ask dosage?

Carrotcakefiend · 22/01/2021 01:47

Felt sh*t for a month, couldn't taste or smell a thing. Even tried eating mustard and siracha. The first... Nothing, the siracha I almost burnt my lips off but still... Nothing. 9 months on and I still sense smells totally differently. It's like I've had to relearn to smell and stuff just doesn't smell the same anymore. All bad smells were eggy for a while, and i used to love the smell of lavender but now it smells like TCP Confused

PuzzledObserver · 22/01/2021 09:13

@Poorlykitten I started with 25 mcg. A few months later I had a blood test to check my vitamin D levels and it was 62, whereas it needed to be over 75 and ideally between 100-150 for optimum immune functioning.

So I increased the dose to 100 mcg and have stayed on that. Tested again in October and was at 122, perfect.

100mcg is the maximum dose that is recommended without a doctor’s supervision.

niceplumpbird · 22/01/2021 11:06

I am Day 24 today. I was ok yesterday but the headache, dizziness and nausea is back today. I am starting to smell and taste bits of things again. Still v tired but not sleeping very well atm.

I also take vit D, I have been on 4000IU per day for years but I have gut absorption issues so my levels are still only 74 after I started taking them when my levels were 18 about 7 years ago.
