Life is sooo dull!

And yes, we've been out puddle jumping already today Wink

I've started wandering around with a damp cloth to wipe up smudges on door handles etc.
Skirting boards feel pointless with a dog and all the mud around right now.

I found DH scrubbing out the bird feeders the other day Hmm

Oh and you under bed hoover types need a Eufy, unless you really need something to do then don't let me stop you

In which case they should still get a eufy but spend their days videoing eufy-with-googly-eyes or eufy-with-cat-riding-on-it videos and uploading them to Facebook.

You wouldn't get one underneath our beds. There's not a big enough gap.

I think you might be me!
Oh no, I've barely got the energy to be me🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm sorry you feel like this too, it's utterly shit 💐

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 21/01/2021 15:46
@WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants I'm exactly the same. My kitchen is a shit tip but I just can't summon the energy to go in and clean it. At the moment I'm basically just washing a cup or a plate as and when I need one. I'm finding lately even doing the most basic things on my days off exhausts me and I need to go lay down.
I'm sorry you're feeling exhausted too.

I didn't sleep again last night, not even an hour.

I think I'm going to resort to a mulled wine stupor tonight...
@skirtingbore Bored?! You sound insane! ShockGrinSkirting boards were invented by men to give us more work to do...or not!Grin
I lived overseas where lots of modern houses don't have skirting boards. I like the look ...my Plasterer less so when
I told him that was what I wanted 😁

ancientgran · 21/01/2021 16:01

I've actually contemplated the same thing. I decided to wash down all the kitchen cupboards today. Tomorrow it might be the skirting boards. Having said that I need to pick meds up from the pharmacy, I nearly went today but decided to save such an exciting outing so I might do that to morrow.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 21/01/2021 16:01

I repotted all my houseplants last week and now they seem to be dying.

That'll learn me.

I dared to move one of mine when I had my Christmas tree up, and it died. I moved it all of 3 metres.

Used to do the skirting board malarkey as a SAHM but retired now and knees are dodgy.
Sorted out letter rack other day and had a shredding session.I will do remaining filing whenever.

marmitecake · 21/01/2021 16:11

I was so bored I shampoo'd my guinea pig (who didn't really need it) in lieu of going for a walk which has now got very tedious.

BasiliskStare · 21/01/2021 16:13

Oh - lovely - I am going through the bathroom cupboard and 1) throwing everything out past its sell by date & 2) Getting out everything we bought and ordered and then was just shoved in the back of the cupboard. & also cleaning the shelves

This is what is had come to Grin - Oh and also a jigsaw - I did not ever think I would be in this state - but hey ho - all cheerful.

Jocasta2018 · 21/01/2021 16:24

Skirting boards are wall-cummerbunds. They exist only to hide the bit where the wall sits on the floor.
Why is it that skirting boards come pretty much as standard whereas cornices are more of an optional extra?

Thought for the day.

LH1987 · 21/01/2021 16:27

On maternity leave with a 7 month old. I am dangerously bored and have binged watched all 7 seasons of the Gilmore girls in the last week. Trying to do dry January isn’t helping 😂

Still too much of a slattern to wash the skirting boards though! I am impressed.

This thread has really made me laugh though so thanks.

bilbodog · 21/01/2021 16:34

Great thread! Not bored here reading mumsnet all day 🤣🤣🤣

Cheesypea · 21/01/2021 16:38

LH that's some fine work. dont forget the Gilmore girl Netflix recent revival!

Frouby · 21/01/2021 16:41

I cleaned my upstairs skirting boards last week while I was waiting for laptop to update with my socks. Dh asked wtf I was doing and was disgusted I did it that way, as my socks were now dusty. Took socks off and put them in wash. Blue sky thinking right there.

I've also worked out ds (7) does his work quicker and with less whining if I am not sat with him, but am still in earshot. So have taken to cleaning the kitchen bit by bit, cupboard by cupboard. The fucking excitement.

I even did a home workout this morning. Now I'm bored and aching.

skirtingbore · 21/01/2021 16:41

Thank you, you have actually made my day!
Hugoslavia · 21/01/2021 16:57

Am laughing because I have done EXACTLY the same today!! And the inside of the washing machine!! I wish that I had something to show for all my cleaning though! With everyone at home it's like painting the forth bridge.

Nellodee · 21/01/2021 17:00

I have a coat cupboard with shoes five sizes too small and coats that fit children mine could easily eat in one sitting.

I'm still not quite bored enough.

Hugoslavia · 21/01/2021 17:01

Even my cat is bored and she is the only one who can bloody we'll come and go as she pleases. Instead, when she's not following me around with a face like a wet weekend, she lies in wait on the landing bannister and pounces when one of us goes upstairs, nearly sending us tumbling down the staircase!

SuperbGorgonzola · 21/01/2021 17:09

@LH1987 and @Cheesypea can I also interrupt to recommend This Is Us on Amazon Prime. It stars Jess from Gilmore Girls (looking very fit, I must say) and it's a similar kind of family based, heartwarming sort of thing. I'm currently bingeing the shit out of it.
