Life is sooo dull!

And yes, we've been out puddle jumping already today Wink

@skirtingbore Bored?! You sound insane! ShockGrinSkirting boards were invented by men to give us more work to do...or not!Grin

@Lockdowningagain

Oh thank goodness! I thought this was a normal once a week sort of thing people did but relieved to know it's considered only something to do in times of desperate boredom 😅
My thoughts too 😂 Sounds more fun than phonics with my 5yo though Wink
KarensChoppyBob · 20/01/2021 19:49

Fair enough OP, my teens like to lock themselves away quite a lot = reading time. Sth to look forward to ;)

Stupidusernamefaff · 20/01/2021 21:16

@Snapcat

You are the woman my MIL wishes her DS married 😂
Haha same! My MiL once commented it was ‘a shame’ our skirting boards were dirty!!!
JaninaDuszejko · 20/01/2021 21:22

After lockdown 1 when our cleaner came back she told me she'd cleaned the skirting boards and they were filthy. I felt like a slattern Grin.

ExpulsoCorona · 20/01/2021 21:25

It's a slippery slope OP. One minute you're washing skirting boards, the next minute you're ironing bedsheets....

cardibach · 20/01/2021 21:38

I am never that bored. I like reading and tv. There’s no way on this earth I would wash skirting boards even if I was bored. I live alone, by the way, so while there’s less friction there’s also less to do...

EssentialHummus · 20/01/2021 21:40

I went for a smear today and it was genuinely the highlight of my week.

TigerDroveAgain · 20/01/2021 21:42

I exhumed, sorted and refiled my linen cupboard on Sunday.

We have lived here for more than 20 years and that is the first time I’ve done it.

Still haven’t been in the loft though

BrettAndersonscheekbones · 20/01/2021 21:44

essentialhummus 😆

Bluntness100 · 20/01/2021 21:45

I have to be honest I don’t think I could ever be that bored. 😃

Mildmustard · 20/01/2021 21:45

@WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants

I think you might be me!

catsareme14 · 20/01/2021 21:56

I reached new levels of boredom today . I cleaned the underside of my sink plugs ..

Lucy830 · 20/01/2021 21:56

Oh my goodness! I have done exactly the same. I also cleaned the walls (with sugar soap)! I have not done this since the house was built.

cyclingmad · 20/01/2021 21:57

I ended up emptying the room, pulling up the laminate flooring (even marked each room with a number and drew a map so I knew how to put it back together). Screwed down my floor so it would stop making creaky noises. Put down new underaly, painted the skirting boards and even the windowsill! Put laminate back down, furniture back in.

Dragged it out over 2 weeks lol now pondering the other two rooms o fix creaky floor but its to cold for painting so moving on to taking sutff out of cupbards and cleaning it

Cherryup · 20/01/2021 22:12

I washed my lampshades last week!

I've done the cutlery drawer 3 times now since March.

Still not sorted out the toys though, wondering what level of boredom will be required before I actually do it.

womanity · 20/01/2021 22:18

Have a toddler. Can't read unfortunately!

Cleaning skirting boards is exactly the point of having a toddler! Toddler height, toddler job! Get ‘em trained.

We checked our anticipated pension incomes. All fun here.

Maryann1975 · 20/01/2021 22:29

I’ve been at work today, but on Sunday, the highlight of the day was going through everyone’s sock drawer to look for odd socks and to unroll each pair to check if any had gone thin/holes on the bottom to chuck them away.

If I clean the skirting boards it might reveal that they need painting. Dh started glossing some of the doors last lockdown and it’s really obvious where he got bored and didn’t do them all.

womanity · 20/01/2021 23:11

maryanne
You could use the thin socks to dust the boards. And any Venetian blinds you may have.

If your still bored can you come round and wash mine?
cyclingmad · 20/01/2021 23:18

How do skirting boards get dirty?

Now im wondering am I the only one who runs vacuum cleaner across the top to suck up any dust every time I vacuum a room Hmm

Oohh another one who irons bed sheets, love how they look so nice ironed

Ilovegreentomatoes · 20/01/2021 23:19

I remember my mum used to iron knickers and pants...I could never get that desparate!

Ringsender2 · 20/01/2021 23:26

Love this thread. Just oozes ennui like a ripe camembert

SendHelp30 · 20/01/2021 23:27

I sorted out my cleaning cupboard today.
I have method spray cleaners in 4 different scents.
